From my perspective the answer is yes. P90x is a great tool for endurance athletes. However, I started my fitness journey with P90X and Tony Horton, so perhaps I’m a bit biased.
As you may be aware, I’m very active on Twitter. I have seen more and more long distance runners, cyclists and triathletes using P90X to gain the extra advantage and to help them promote flexibility and prevent injury. The best thing about the P90X plan is the variety and how easily it can be customized. It is very versatile and lends itself to endurance training very well. In addition, the P90X program includes stretching and intense power yoga videos. Both of these programs, whether from P90X or not, should be an important part of any endurance athlete’s schedule.
Don’t just take my word for it. Here is some video of a couple of Southern California Triathletes discussing the benefits of P90X and how it can be incorporated into endurance training.
