One on One Core Ball Sandwich

So I started Phase II of my 60 day workout schedule on Saturday with a 48 mile bike ride and an agonizing 2 mile run.  Some day I will learn to love running.  That day was not Saturday.  Nonetheless, I got through the run and had a very strong bike ride.  Sunday was a day off.

Last night I did Tony Horton’s One on One Core Ball Sandwich workout, which is a variation on P90X Core Synergistics.  WOW, that’s a serious workout.  It is a 10 rep workout that you repeat twice for a total of 20 moves.   I like the variety in this set even more than Core Synergistics.  Tony uses push up and pull up moves to focus on the core, so you are working two muscle groups at the same time.  The set is very effective and I’m really feeling it today.

Tonight on the schedule I have a 4 mile run and then yoga.  I can’t wait.  I really need the yoga sessions to continue to build strength and flexibility and help me avoid injury as I begin to shift into a more triathlon focused training session beginning around November 20th.
