Here we are Fit Clubbers…rapidly approaching 2010 and another year of resolutions on the horizon. Looking back, 2009 was an amazing year of growth for The Fit Club Network (we went from zero to 60 in a hurry). I know there are several factors that contributed to our success, but I also know that goal setting became the #1 factor in our success formula.

One of the things that we were asked to do as Team Beachbody Coaches was read books or listen to audio in the genre of personal growth. I have found that this single activity not only sets me up for success, it also improves my attitude. One of the books that I read this year was written by, Brian Tracy. His book, Eat That Frog gave me permission to focus ONLY on first things first and second thing never.

Brian Tracy also details a highly effective 7 part system on goal setting that is applicable to Beachbody coaching and what seems every other part of my life as well.

The 7 part system to goal setting looks like this:
1. Decide what you want. Have a clear purpose.
2. Write it down.
3. Create a deadline for meeting this goal.
4. List all the things you will need to do in order to accomplish this goal. This creates a track to run on.
5. Organize this list into a plan.
6. Take action immediately.
7. Resolve to do anything daily to move you toward your goal.

Watch it for yourself

BRIAN TRACY ON SETTING GOALS

I want to encourage you all to set goals. These may be fitness goals, or business goals, or even something as simple as being determined to spend more time with your family. Regardless of what the goal is, follow these steps and you will increase your chances of getting what you want.

Monica

WHY? Because it helps you program yourself EACH day for success.

What is personal development? For the sake of simplicity and Team Beachbody coaching, it can be defined as taking the time in your daily activities to read books, listen to audio CDs, or attend classes related to helping us achieve personal success!

This week’s 15 minutes of daily audio is Failing Forward by John C. Maxwell. The book can be found HERE. This book has helped me to better understand failure, how it is inevitable, and how it is one of the greatest learning tools available.

My 15 minute lesson:
Did you ever want to know what the 1 key factor between average people and achieving people is? According to John C. Maxwell, it is perception of and response to failure.
According to Maxwell, I have the ability to CHOOSE how I to perceive a given situation and how I will react to that situation. If I didn’t experience a failure almost immediately after that, I am not sure I would have believed it.

Monday morning, I had decided that after the Thanksgiving weekend, I would enlist the support of a coach. I have a business coach, but I don’t really have a fitness coach and I want one. So, I called and scheduled an appointment with a person I respect very much. The night before I set out my workout clothes, my shoes, and set the alarm clock. In the morning, I drove out to his studio ready to take a beating….in a good way! However, it never occurred to me that HE might not show up…for whatever his reasons were.

There I was, sitting in my car, and no coach. My usual reaction would have been anger so I could play my victim card, BUT those 15 minutes, got my head on straight and I hit my plan B, a Chest and Back workout with the boys at AZ Body Mechanics! If you are not a fan on Facebook, become one for me! Dr. Ehren saved the day with his P90X Fit Club.

The workout was great, but my perception of the “no-show” and my reaction to it were even better. Instead of allowing a simple mistake in scheduling to derail my strong desire to take my physical fitness to the next level, I went and worked out with a group of people that I really enjoy. When I was done with my workout I felt a tremendous sense of empowerment. Not only had I gotten my workout in, but I had flipped a bad situation into a good one.

Just think, if 15 minutes of audio did that for me, what would 30 days of daily audio do, or 6 months. This is ONE of the 10 core commitments of being a Beachbody coach. Decide which book, Commit to reading or listening to it….AND YOU WILL EXPERIENCE SUCCESS.

That’s probably because being a leader is about action more than it is about checking off a series of boxes on a “to do” list. Being a leader takes vision and it takes passion. Carl Daikeler is the CEO of Product Partners, LLC, which is the parent company of Team Beachbody. Carl is a leader. He’s not someone I consider a leader because he has a lot of fancy phrases, wears a $5,000 suit, or drives a luxury car. Carl is a leader because he takes action and because he is relentless in his pursuit of his goals. Carl opened the Game Plan Event with his definition of Leadership, which I thought I would share with you all.

1. Have a specific goal (Carl’s goal is to have one million Coaches, helping one hundred million customers).
2. Constantly be searching for specific actions that are proven to lead to that goal.
3. Only focus on actions that can be repeated and scaled.
4. Build the largest team to execute these steps.
5. Never stop learning.
6. Never give up.

I believe that Carl’s success, and the success of Team Beachbody, is rooted in these very principles. The Daikeler Theory is about taking the time to understand what you are trying to accomplish and then keeping your eyes on that prize. People like Carl do the first things first and the second things never. If it doesn’t lead to your specific goal, then it is a distraction and a waste of time. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t spend time with your kids, watch a football game, exercise, or just chat with friends. That is to say that when it is time to work, it is time to WORK.

The parallels between fitness and the Beachbody Coaching Business never cease to amaze me. Could you apply The Daikeler Theory to your fitness? Think about it for a second. If you had a specific fitness goal and you constantly searched for specific actions that lead to that goal, wouldn’t your fitness improve? If you focused on specific actions that were easily repeated and could be done by larger groups of people and then you found or formed that larger group of people to nourish your collective fitness, wouldn’t your fitness and your odds of maintaining it be better? If you never stopped learning about fitness, and particularly about nutrition, and you never gave up on your specific fitness goal, wouldn’t your entire life be better? Does this sound like the concept of a Fit Club to you? You see leadership starts within. That’s because it is about what you have done, not what you are going to do. Take control of your fitness and you take control of your life. Take control of your life and you will become the leader you want to be.

Monica and I are very lucky to be a part of the Beachbody Coaching Community and to have the opportunity to help others achieve their fitness goals and their financial goals. Our commitment to you, whether you read this as one of our Coaches or one of our customers, is to continue to provide you with the tools you need to be successful. Beachbody has just armed us with a powerful arsenal of tools to help do that. So if you are a Coach, now is the time to engage. Get on the weekly Monday night Team Webinar. Talk to your upline. Make plans to attend the Beachbody Summit in late April. Make sure you understand and follow the 10 Core Commitments that make up the Game Plan. If you do these things, you will take a step forward in your business. For every step forward you take, we’ll take two and together we will get where we all want to go.

Have a great day everybody. Here’s today’s BNN piece on The Game Plan and Carl’s vision. Enjoy.

TOP TEN FAQ’s of Beachbody Coaching

1.What is a coach?

Beachbody refers to their reps as “coaches”. They call them coaches because they are more than just “distributors” or “reps”. Yes, they have the ability to sell and suggest fitness products and workouts, but they also have a vested interest to “coach” the people they are in contact with into a better and healthier way of life. Look at it this way…I’ve thought of myself as a coach for many years while working in the fitness industry or just by working out in the gym and offering advice to my neighbor. Now I can make it official and start earning money to do what I’ve been doing passionately for all those years.

2.Who can be a coach?

ANYONE! You do not need to be invited; you can make this decision yourself and sign up today! We strongly encourage those to join in the coaching business who have a strong desire to reach their deepest goals. This is a home based business working as the “go-to” person, for helping people get fit! You do not need to have certifications, degrees, or years of experience working in the fitness industry to do this. All you need to do, is to continue to be an example yourself and share your successes with others! You can be a fitness professional, in the best shape of your life, or working your way to the best shape of your life….as long as you are committed and dedicated to staying accountable, you can help others become accountable in their goals too!

3.What do I “do” everyday as a coach?

Depending on where you want to take your business or the direction of your goals, this answer can be different for everyone. But primarily the common answer is to – Share your Story! As a coach, you have the ability to sell any Beachbody item from their nutritionals all the way to their workout videos. Just start telling your story and letting people know of your new business venture. The word will spread! You may also spend your time getting in touch with your network and circle around you. You will have the greatest gains in your business if you build your down line team of coaches.

4.What are the fees to join?

Beachbody really wants to make this as affordable as possible, so that we can make a HUGE difference in our direction to change one person at a time in becoming more fit and healthy!

Initial Join in Cost: $39.95

This includes your Business Kit which will be shipped to you (s/h extra)
and your FIRST month’s fee of your personal Coaching Webpage.

Monthly Webpage Fee: $14.95
Your webpage will serve for multiple purposes. Beachbody automatically updates and maintains your webpage! They build it for you! All you need to do is personalize it with your photo and bio! Your page will be used for:

• Your customers to make purchases from your virtual store!
• Those interested in getting into the CLUB MEMBERSHIP so they can receive 10% discount on any item they buy
• Signing up your coaches!
• COACHING BACKOFFICE- this is your business center for your coaching business. You will securely access this to build, maintain, and watch your business grow from your down line coaches to your weekly pay checks.

OPTIONAL FEE:
Club Membership: $38.87(4 times a year total- billed quarterly)

• As a club member, you will have access to additional fitness and nutritional programs available to you on your webpage. BUT the #1 reason to be a part of this is Beachbody’s LEAD GENERATION PROGRAM!

• As an active Emerald coach, you will be GIVEN FREE CUSTOMERS from Beachbody! Beachbody spends over 100 million dollars each year in advertising. When those customers contact Beachbody to purchase something or to get more involved, Beachbody assigns those contacts to ACTIVE EMERALD (or higher) coaches!

5. Beachbody actually GIVES me customers?

YES! Just reach the basic level of EMERALD and maintain and active status, and you will receive customers in your database possibly everyday! Beachbody receives about 20-30,000 customer leads a week! Those come in and get assigned to the next active emerald coach (or higher) in line. You will earn commissions from these customers REPEAT business! You will also earn BONUS Commissions off of their CLUB MEMBERSHIP dues! (billed and paid quarterly) Just for being ACTIVE!

6. How do I earn income as a Beachbody coach?

There are several very detailed ways of earning income and the many ways to really make a significant income. But in general, here are the basics:

Any sales to customers of products from your website or directly from yourself- 25% commission.
Customers who join the CLUB MEMBERSHIP- you earn 50% of their quarterly membership dues. Personally sponsored coaches who are in the CLUB MEMBERSHIP earn you 50% commission. ADDTIONALLY- Your Downline TEAM CYCLE BONUSES can pay out when you bank a certain amount of points.
Customers in the Club Membership- you receive 15% commission on any of their purchases.

As a Beachbody Coach, you get a 25% discount on any item you personally want to purchase as well!

7. Do I have to stock inventory?

No, you do not. This is a virtual business operated via a webstore that is provided to you by Beachbody. However, you can purchase items in greater amounts and sell them at your leisure or as drop shipments.

8. Can I be a Coach if I’m not in the US?

At this time, only USA, USA Territories and Military locations can sign up as a coach. Beachbody is currently in the process of registering with Canadian authorities. We hope this proces will be complete by the end of 2009. We believe Canada will be the first international location, but Beachbody has plans to extend the opportunity to numerous other countries.

9. How can I fit this in my daily life? I’m already way too busy!

If you are involved in fitness already, this will be MUCH easier for you! This will be natural and follow what you normally do already! Opportunity always presents itself, now you’ll just have a way of earning commissions on the programs you’ve already been suggesting. The extent to which you develop your “downline” is up to each individual. You can be very aggressive to create a long downline of coaches and retail sales. As someone involved in fitness, you’ll find yourself having the same conversations you would naturally when people ask you the many questions they often do about “getting fit” and losing weight.

10. Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel in your first 30 days, and be completely refunded the first months fees. Thereafter, you can cancel at anytime and only be out, the amount of time you were in the business. However, if you decide you want to rejoin, you will lose your seniority position and level you were once in the company as well as have to wait a 6 month period from cancellation before you can re-join.

The Fit Club Network is one of our Team Beachbody coaching strategies designed to help people get turned on to P90X and other Beachbody products through creating local fit clubs that mainly involve a weekly local, group workout.

Rather than being entirely on your own during your workouts, you can workout once a week with others doing BB programs. Beachbody workouts are generally a perfect mix of cardio and strength training. Your fit club doesn’t not have to be doing the same program you are using. You just need to sub the cardio fit club workout for the cardio workout that would have fallen on that day of your program

We linked our team by calling ourselves the Fit Club Network. Everyone likes to have a team name. As new coaches join our team, they typically pick a fitclub.com domain that represents their geographic location. I am www.arizonafitclub.com. Other AZ coaches have chosen 480fitclub, 602fitclub, Phoenixfitclub. We are rapidly spreading across the nation with local fit clubs in tons of cities.

Our common demoninator is that we all have had our lives radically changed through fitness, but specifically through Beachbody products like P90X.
That is why we became coaches. So we could share and support others who are trying hard to improve their health through fitness.

We have such an awesome team. I am so grateful for each passionate coach involved!
