Here we are Fit Clubbers…rapidly approaching 2010 and another year of resolutions on the horizon. Looking back, 2009 was an amazing year of growth for The Fit Club Network (we went from zero to 60 in a hurry). I know there are several factors that contributed to our success, but I also know that goal setting became the #1 factor in our success formula.

One of the things that we were asked to do as Team Beachbody Coaches was read books or listen to audio in the genre of personal growth. I have found that this single activity not only sets me up for success, it also improves my attitude. One of the books that I read this year was written by, Brian Tracy. His book, Eat That Frog gave me permission to focus ONLY on first things first and second thing never.

Brian Tracy also details a highly effective 7 part system on goal setting that is applicable to Beachbody coaching and what seems every other part of my life as well.

The 7 part system to goal setting looks like this:
1. Decide what you want. Have a clear purpose.
2. Write it down.
3. Create a deadline for meeting this goal.
4. List all the things you will need to do in order to accomplish this goal. This creates a track to run on.
5. Organize this list into a plan.
6. Take action immediately.
7. Resolve to do anything daily to move you toward your goal.

Watch it for yourself

BRIAN TRACY ON SETTING GOALS

I want to encourage you all to set goals. These may be fitness goals, or business goals, or even something as simple as being determined to spend more time with your family. Regardless of what the goal is, follow these steps and you will increase your chances of getting what you want.

WHY? Because it helps you program yourself EACH day for success.

What is personal development? For the sake of simplicity and Team Beachbody coaching, it can be defined as taking the time in your daily activities to read books, listen to audio CDs, or attend classes related to helping us achieve personal success!

This week’s 15 minutes of daily audio is Failing Forward by John C. Maxwell. The book can be found HERE. This book has helped me to better understand failure, how it is inevitable, and how it is one of the greatest learning tools available.

My 15 minute lesson:
Did you ever want to know what the 1 key factor between average people and achieving people is? According to John C. Maxwell, it is perception of and response to failure.
According to Maxwell, I have the ability to CHOOSE how I to perceive a given situation and how I will react to that situation. If I didn’t experience a failure almost immediately after that, I am not sure I would have believed it.

Monday morning, I had decided that after the Thanksgiving weekend, I would enlist the support of a coach. I have a business coach, but I don’t really have a fitness coach and I want one. So, I called and scheduled an appointment with a person I respect very much. The night before I set out my workout clothes, my shoes, and set the alarm clock. In the morning, I drove out to his studio ready to take a beating….in a good way! However, it never occurred to me that HE might not show up…for whatever his reasons were.

There I was, sitting in my car, and no coach. My usual reaction would have been anger so I could play my victim card, BUT those 15 minutes, got my head on straight and I hit my plan B, a Chest and Back workout with the boys at AZ Body Mechanics! If you are not a fan on Facebook, become one for me! Dr. Ehren saved the day with his P90X Fit Club.

The workout was great, but my perception of the “no-show” and my reaction to it were even better. Instead of allowing a simple mistake in scheduling to derail my strong desire to take my physical fitness to the next level, I went and worked out with a group of people that I really enjoy. When I was done with my workout I felt a tremendous sense of empowerment. Not only had I gotten my workout in, but I had flipped a bad situation into a good one.

Just think, if 15 minutes of audio did that for me, what would 30 days of daily audio do, or 6 months. This is ONE of the 10 core commitments of being a Beachbody coach. Decide which book, Commit to reading or listening to it….AND YOU WILL EXPERIENCE SUCCESS.

On October 17 and 18 Team Beachbody unveiled The Game Plan, which is a blueprint for success for Beachbody Coaches. We were lucky enough to get a preview of The Game Plan in action as Monica was invited to be one of eight Beachbody Coaches who participated in a Beta Test of the program. The system is simple to follow and yields real results. Our Team Beachbody business has experienced phenomenal growth over the past month and the system has made Coaching much less time consuming. So, with all that introduction here are the 10 principles that make up The Game Plan.

1. Have a “Getting Started Right Interview” with your sponsoring Team Beachbody Coach within 48 hours of sign up.

The Getting Started Right Interview is an opportunity to educate the new Team Beachbody Coach about the basics of the business and to gain an understanding of what the new Coach wants to accomplish. As upline sponsors our primary job is to help our Coaches achieve their goals. In order to do that you need to take the time to understand what your new Coach’s goals are.

2. Commit to a Beachbody Fitness Program and a Nutritional Program, such as Shakeology.

This seems obvious, but having a plan and writing it down is important. In addition, being on a fitness journey is an important part of being a Team Beachbody Coach. You don’t need to be a fitness model to be a Team Beachbody Coach, but you do need to be a product of the product. That means that everyone needs to have a fitness program and commit to that plan.

3. Commit to Two Exposures per day.

Exposures are all about retailing and recruiting and “exposure is everything”. An exposure is simple to do and essentially means that you direct someone to one of the many third party tools that Team Beachbody has made available. Exposures may involve either the business opportunity or the fitness programs, but we all commit to do at least two per day.

4. Attend at least one local event per week.

These may be business briefings, home parties, training sessions or the “Fit Club” events that we like to organize. Our Fit Club events typically entail a business briefing followed by a workout. We always do a cardio workout (usually P90X Plyometrics or Cardio X or one of the many Insanity workouts). By doing a cardio workout you avoid people needing to bring equipment with them.

5. Attend all Team Beachbody Corporate events.

Team Beachbody holds numerous corporate events. The annual Beachbody Coaches Summit will take place April 30th thru May 2nd of 2010. Every Team Beachbody Coach should plan on attending this important and inspirational event. In addition, there are numerous regional events planned. The Game Plan Road Trip will roll into Tacoma, Washington on November 7, 2009. If you live in the Pacific Northwest, we strongly encourage you to attend this event. The event is also open to business prospects, so if you are reading this as a prospective new Coach, please let us know and we’ll get you added to the list.

6. Treat your Team Beachbody business like a business.

The cost to start a Team Beachbody business is very low. The initial sign up fee is only $39.95, which includes the first month of the a monthly service fee of $14.95. With costs that low it is easy to slip into the trap of not treating your business like a million dollar opportunity. Avoid that trap. Monica is a full time Team Beachbody Coach. I am a lawyer and a part time Team Beachbody Coach. I like to say that I work full time at my job and part time on my fortune. I don’t spend nearly as much time as Monica does working the business, but when I am working as a Coach I am fully dedicated to that action.

7. Apply the Laws of Duplication.

The Game Plan System is designed to be implemented by anyone. Everyone can do the things on this list. Some Coaches have tried to reinvent the wheel and put complicated recruiting systems into place. That may work for that individual Coach, but new Coaches need systems they can work with on day one. That’s the law of duplication.

8. Commit to Personal Development.

We ask everyone, including ourselves, to read 10 pages of a personal development book and listen to 15 minutes of personal development audio every day. This is simple and has benefits that are too great to describe here. Your business will only grow as much as you do, so take this one seriously.

9. Find a Success Partner.

The Team Beachbody Coaching business is a lot like Beachbody fitness programs. They both work better when you have an accountability partner. This is a person that you can talk to regularly about what is going on in your business. We believe it is best done between an upline sponsor and a rising leader. This gives the upline Coach and their sponsor the ability to work closely for 60 days to build in a specific area and acheive some specific goals.

10. Be here a year from now.

Your first year in network marketing isn’t just survival, it is war. Because the costs of getting into the business are low, the returns are not instant. If you paid two million dollars to open a hamburger franchise, you could expect to see immediate returns the day you open the doors. This business is built on sweat equity. You have to give it time and you have to be willing to stick with it to see gradually increasing profits. With a commitment to these principles and consistent effort the profits can be substantial.

So there’s the basics of the Game Plan we will be talking more about these core commitments in future articles here in the Coaches Corner.

That’s probably because being a leader is about action more than it is about checking off a series of boxes on a “to do” list. Being a leader takes vision and it takes passion. Carl Daikeler is the CEO of Product Partners, LLC, which is the parent company of Team Beachbody. Carl is a leader. He’s not someone I consider a leader because he has a lot of fancy phrases, wears a $5,000 suit, or drives a luxury car. Carl is a leader because he takes action and because he is relentless in his pursuit of his goals. Carl opened the Game Plan Event with his definition of Leadership, which I thought I would share with you all.

1. Have a specific goal (Carl’s goal is to have one million Coaches, helping one hundred million customers).
2. Constantly be searching for specific actions that are proven to lead to that goal.
3. Only focus on actions that can be repeated and scaled.
4. Build the largest team to execute these steps.
5. Never stop learning.
6. Never give up.

I believe that Carl’s success, and the success of Team Beachbody, is rooted in these very principles. The Daikeler Theory is about taking the time to understand what you are trying to accomplish and then keeping your eyes on that prize. People like Carl do the first things first and the second things never. If it doesn’t lead to your specific goal, then it is a distraction and a waste of time. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t spend time with your kids, watch a football game, exercise, or just chat with friends. That is to say that when it is time to work, it is time to WORK.

The parallels between fitness and the Beachbody Coaching Business never cease to amaze me. Could you apply The Daikeler Theory to your fitness? Think about it for a second. If you had a specific fitness goal and you constantly searched for specific actions that lead to that goal, wouldn’t your fitness improve? If you focused on specific actions that were easily repeated and could be done by larger groups of people and then you found or formed that larger group of people to nourish your collective fitness, wouldn’t your fitness and your odds of maintaining it be better? If you never stopped learning about fitness, and particularly about nutrition, and you never gave up on your specific fitness goal, wouldn’t your entire life be better? Does this sound like the concept of a Fit Club to you? You see leadership starts within. That’s because it is about what you have done, not what you are going to do. Take control of your fitness and you take control of your life. Take control of your life and you will become the leader you want to be.

Monica and I are very lucky to be a part of the Beachbody Coaching Community and to have the opportunity to help others achieve their fitness goals and their financial goals. Our commitment to you, whether you read this as one of our Coaches or one of our customers, is to continue to provide you with the tools you need to be successful. Beachbody has just armed us with a powerful arsenal of tools to help do that. So if you are a Coach, now is the time to engage. Get on the weekly Monday night Team Webinar. Talk to your upline. Make plans to attend the Beachbody Summit in late April. Make sure you understand and follow the 10 Core Commitments that make up the Game Plan. If you do these things, you will take a step forward in your business. For every step forward you take, we’ll take two and together we will get where we all want to go.

Have a great day everybody. Here’s today’s BNN piece on The Game Plan and Carl’s vision. Enjoy.

TOP TEN FAQ’s of Beachbody Coaching
1.What is a coach?

TOP TEN FAQ’s of Beachbody Coaching

1.What is a coach?

Beachbody refers to their reps as “coaches”. They call them coaches because they are more than just “distributors” or “reps”. Yes, they have the ability to sell and suggest fitness products and workouts, but they also have a vested interest to “coach” the people they are in contact with into a better and healthier way of life. Look at it this way…I’ve thought of myself as a coach for many years while working in the fitness industry or just by working out in the gym and offering advice to my neighbor. Now I can make it official and start earning money to do what I’ve been doing passionately for all those years.

2.Who can be a coach?

ANYONE! You do not need to be invited; you can make this decision yourself and sign up today! We strongly encourage those to join in the coaching business who have a strong desire to reach their deepest goals. This is a home based business working as the “go-to” person, for helping people get fit! You do not need to have certifications, degrees, or years of experience working in the fitness industry to do this. All you need to do, is to continue to be an example yourself and share your successes with others! You can be a fitness professional, in the best shape of your life, or working your way to the best shape of your life….as long as you are committed and dedicated to staying accountable, you can help others become accountable in their goals too!

3.What do I “do” everyday as a coach?

Depending on where you want to take your business or the direction of your goals, this answer can be different for everyone. But primarily the common answer is to – Share your Story! As a coach, you have the ability to sell any Beachbody item from their nutritionals all the way to their workout videos. Just start telling your story and letting people know of your new business venture. The word will spread! You may also spend your time getting in touch with your network and circle around you. You will have the greatest gains in your business if you build your down line team of coaches.

4.What are the fees to join?

Beachbody really wants to make this as affordable as possible, so that we can make a HUGE difference in our direction to change one person at a time in becoming more fit and healthy!

Initial Join in Cost: $39.95

This includes your Business Kit which will be shipped to you (s/h extra)
and your FIRST month’s fee of your personal Coaching Webpage.

Monthly Webpage Fee: $14.95
Your webpage will serve for multiple purposes. Beachbody automatically updates and maintains your webpage! They build it for you! All you need to do is personalize it with your photo and bio! Your page will be used for:

• Your customers to make purchases from your virtual store!
• Those interested in getting into the CLUB MEMBERSHIP so they can receive 10% discount on any item they buy
• Signing up your coaches!
• COACHING BACKOFFICE- this is your business center for your coaching business. You will securely access this to build, maintain, and watch your business grow from your down line coaches to your weekly pay checks.

OPTIONAL FEE:
Club Membership: $38.87(4 times a year total- billed quarterly)

• As a club member, you will have access to additional fitness and nutritional programs available to you on your webpage. BUT the #1 reason to be a part of this is Beachbody’s LEAD GENERATION PROGRAM!

• As an active Emerald coach, you will be GIVEN FREE CUSTOMERS from Beachbody! Beachbody spends over 100 million dollars each year in advertising. When those customers contact Beachbody to purchase something or to get more involved, Beachbody assigns those contacts to ACTIVE EMERALD (or higher) coaches!

5. Beachbody actually GIVES me customers?

YES! Just reach the basic level of EMERALD and maintain and active status, and you will receive customers in your database possibly everyday! Beachbody receives about 20-30,000 customer leads a week! Those come in and get assigned to the next active emerald coach (or higher) in line. You will earn commissions from these customers REPEAT business! You will also earn BONUS Commissions off of their CLUB MEMBERSHIP dues! (billed and paid quarterly) Just for being ACTIVE!

6. How do I earn income as a Beachbody coach?

There are several very detailed ways of earning income and the many ways to really make a significant income. But in general, here are the basics:

Any sales to customers of products from your website or directly from yourself- 25% commission.
Customers who join the CLUB MEMBERSHIP- you earn 50% of their quarterly membership dues. Personally sponsored coaches who are in the CLUB MEMBERSHIP earn you 50% commission. ADDTIONALLY- Your Downline TEAM CYCLE BONUSES can pay out when you bank a certain amount of points.
Customers in the Club Membership- you receive 15% commission on any of their purchases.

As a Beachbody Coach, you get a 25% discount on any item you personally want to purchase as well!

7. Do I have to stock inventory?

No, you do not. This is a virtual business operated via a webstore that is provided to you by Beachbody. However, you can purchase items in greater amounts and sell them at your leisure or as drop shipments.

8. Can I be a Coach if I’m not in the US?

At this time, only USA, USA Territories and Military locations can sign up as a coach. Beachbody is currently in the process of registering with Canadian authorities. We hope this proces will be complete by the end of 2009. We believe Canada will be the first international location, but Beachbody has plans to extend the opportunity to numerous other countries.

9. How can I fit this in my daily life? I’m already way too busy!

If you are involved in fitness already, this will be MUCH easier for you! This will be natural and follow what you normally do already! Opportunity always presents itself, now you’ll just have a way of earning commissions on the programs you’ve already been suggesting. The extent to which you develop your “downline” is up to each individual. You can be very aggressive to create a long downline of coaches and retail sales. As someone involved in fitness, you’ll find yourself having the same conversations you would naturally when people ask you the many questions they often do about “getting fit” and losing weight.

10. Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel in your first 30 days, and be completely refunded the first months fees. Thereafter, you can cancel at anytime and only be out, the amount of time you were in the business. However, if you decide you want to rejoin, you will lose your seniority position and level you were once in the company as well as have to wait a 6 month period from cancellation before you can re-join.

The Fit Club Network is one of our Team Beachbody coaching strategies designed to help people get turned on to P90X and other Beachbody products through creating local fit clubs that mainly involve a weekly local, group workout.

Rather than being entirely on your own during your workouts, you can workout once a week with others doing BB programs. Beachbody workouts are generally a perfect mix of cardio and strength training. Your fit club doesn’t not have to be doing the same program you are using. You just need to sub the cardio fit club workout for the cardio workout that would have fallen on that day of your program

We linked our team by calling ourselves the Fit Club Network. Everyone likes to have a team name. As new coaches join our team, they typically pick a fitclub.com domain that represents their geographic location. I am www.arizonafitclub.com. Other AZ coaches have chosen 480fitclub, 602fitclub, Phoenixfitclub. We are rapidly spreading across the nation with local fit clubs in tons of cities.

Our common demoninator is that we all have had our lives radically changed through fitness, but specifically through Beachbody products like P90X.
That is why we became coaches. So we could share and support others who are trying hard to improve their health through fitness.

We have such an awesome team. I am so grateful for each passionate coach involved!

Welcome to the community of Beachbody coaching! I cannot be more excited to be on this same journey with you. If you would have told me 5 1/2 years ago that:

I would have the health and fit body I’ve always wanted (especially after two kids)

I would be so interested in health and wellness for others, I’d want to leave my happy career to get involved

I would be making more money than my teacher’s salary working half the time

….well I would have thought you were talking crazy….and yet, here I am.

So now you’re a coach and I bet you are wondering how does this all come together. How do I get or stay in shape, help others, and make some income? You keep three simple words in mind: Share, Share, Share!

Huh, Monica? Think of each share in a more direct sense

Share the products and supplements= Retail

Share the business opportunity= Recruit

Share your continued support= Maintain (these are those who have already said YES to the two shares above)

Coaching is so rewarding. What you give to others you will get back. By supporting others, you’ll feel supported too. You’ll be motivated to stay committed and true to your own health through proper nutrition and exercise. By sharing the products that are shaping you, you’ll start to witness the change in others.

It is amazing to take people from one state of mind, to a place where they cannot even imagine going. The gift of health has such a positive ripple effect on the lives of the people you change. When people feel good, they have a better attitude. Your coaches and customers will spend their time and new found energy giving back the people around them. It is SUCH a win win!

You’ve said yes to this opportunity, what is stopping you from changing a life today?

We believe in you!

Monica

My name is Monica Ward and I am a wife, mother, former Elementary school teacher and one half of a dynamic husband/ wife coaching team.

Hello and welcome to the Fit Club Network. My name is Monica Ward and I am a wife, mother, former Elementary school teacher and one half of a dynamic husband/ wife coaching team. I am currently an Independent 5 star Diamond Team Beachbody Coach. I am truly honored to promote the products that gave me a FINAL solution to my weight problem. The process was amazing to experience and I want to be by your side the entire time you choose to take the same steps I took.

Personal Coaching

I wish I could say that most people can take on the challenge of a Beachbody product and complete their program without any help or support, but unfortunately we have found that not to be true. There is a higher possibility of success among those who lean on their coach and their peer support community. Daily support is motivating and learning to support your peers during this process is equally as rewarding. I’m here for you and WANT to see YOU succeed. Here is my commitment to you.

Together We Will:

Push play 6 days a week

Remind one another to take our vitamins and eat clean.

Visit the community thread at least 4 times a week…or daily.

I am here to help Beachbody be your YOUR answer to lifelong wellness!

My Story

I am a 10,000 dollar transformation contest winner for March 2007. I have been at my goal weight for over five years. I am in the best shape of my life and REALLY look forward to helping you reach YOUR goals. I want you to feel healthy, fit, and accomplished.

Coach Monica Before

I am 36 year old married mother of 2. It is very important for me to model healthy behaviors for my children. I want them to grow up fit and healthy. Among other things I teach my children, I would love to know that I helped them to maintain a heathly lifestyle. My Beachbody revolution started after I had my second child, I really wanted to get into shape and start a regular exercise regimen.

I could live with my overweight body and my poor eating habits but, I couldn’t live with the fact that my behaviors were directly influencing my two children. I was suddenly confronted with a big decision of changing my lifestyle but, I didn’t know how. I tried the gym and a personal trainer. She was great but, the gym experience was too expensive and inconvenient. Ironically, the personal trainer at the gym told me I could reach my fitness goals in less than an hour just doing exercises in my home. I didn’t believe her and soon I learned how wrong I was. Late one night, I caught an advertisement for Power 90. Tony Horton offered me the 30-40 minute workout that I could complete in the comfort of my own home. I thought I’d give it a try. The first few weeks were hard. I was sore and slow. The day one photos haunted me. Could I have really become the person in that picture? By day 30, I was down 12 pounds and could really feel it in my clothes. The side by side photos were amazing to me. I couldn’t wait to post them on my thread for the community to see. I was far from my goal weight but, I was beaming with pride and ready to celebrate with my message board buddies. Day 90 was incredible.

Coach Monica After

I found myself 23 pounds lighter and had gone from a size 14 to a size 6. The most surprising thing was that the previous year I had gotten down to 141 pounds by dieting and was a tight size 10. On day 90, I weighed in at 139 pounds and was wearing a comfortable size 6. The exercise was truly transforming my figure. The next program I tried was Slim in 6. By the end of the six weeks, I was down to a size 4 and had lost another 8 pounds. After that success, I tried Yoga Booty Ballet. I had so much fun dancing and sweating. I have completed P90X twice. I have completed 4 half marathons and even ran my first marathon in San Diego last June of 2008.

Sometimes, I just shake my head in disbelief. I never thought I’d learn to love exercise and I love it! I finally live a healthier life. I love that my lifestyle is positively impacting my family. Anyone around me who wants to change their lives will hear me tell them to get a Team Beachbody program and never look back.

Coaching is an attitude and an act of giving. I am a ball of positive energy and love to encourage people. No matter who you are and where you are in your process we take this journey TOGETHER.

Email me a little bit about yourself, your current stats and your goals: monica@thefitclubnetwork.com. I look forward to coaching you. Coaching is all about attitude! If you think you’d like to be a coach on our team, just ask. I’d love to help change lives with you! Let’s do this together.

Business Coaching

Enough about me. This part is about you. If you arrived at this site it was likely because you are interested in becoming a Coach. The group of Beachbody Coaches grows every single day, and there are a number of excellent Coaches who can assist you with your business. I hope to tell you why you should choose Monica and me to help you build your business.

Team Concept

We are truly a team. We work the business in tandem, which means you have two people to talk to, two sets of ideas on approaching the business, and twice the potential for downline growth.
In addition to our household team concept, we promote a team concept within our business. Here in Phoenix we encourage our Coaches to band together and present a united front. We have Coaches on our team across the United States, and we are encouraging them to do precisely the same thing. Please contact us if you want more information about Coaches in other U.S. Cities.

Repeatable Systems

We employ a number of strategies, both in person and on the internet. We have print materials and internet materials that you can use to build your business. We don’t charge you for these items. Our goal is to make you an independent Diamond Coach as soon as possible. To do that, you will need to have a system. Our system is tested. We’ve seen strategies succeed and strategies fail. We will provide you with those systems that have been successful and help you build your business.

Commitment to Our Coaches

Our commitment to you, as one of our Coaches, is to provide you with these services and the advice necessary to implement them to make your business a success. This is not a commitment that is made lightly. On numerous occasions we have traveled across the country to assist our Coaches with events and help them build their business. We strongly believe that the personal support of your upline Coach is essential to a successful business. By making this commitment to you, and helping you become a success, we know you will pay that forward and make a similar commitment to your downline Coaches when they sign up.

Please contact me if you have any questions about how I can help you get fit, or about the Team Beachbody Coaching Opportunity.

Monica
