Hey Everyone!
I'm Monica. I have a fabulous hubby and 2 beautiful children. I have already lost 40 pounds since the birth of my last child. I started my weight loss program with Power 90, the precursor to P90X, then I tried Slim in Six, then Yoga Booty ballet, and finally P90X. (I had to wait for it to be released back then)

Anyhow, now I follow the "X formula" plugging in 3 cardio workouts and 3 weight training workouts to maintain my results.
I am hoping to share my journey with many like minded people.

Happiness and Health,
Monica

WOOOHOOO! Look at this happy place! :) I believe this the "New Member Introduction" thread.....so allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Kimberly....otherwise known as Kim. I am the CEO of our home. :p I am a person who was once lost in a world of disappointments, hurts, self pity, and A LOT of extra weight. In August of 2004 I stumbled across this amazing company that truly cares about the health and well-being of their fellow man. Beachbody gave me the foundation to stand on while I dug deep to find the woman inside of me. In a 90 day time period I went from a size 14 to a size 6....BUT the biggest transformation of all was my spirit...I discovered this beautiful person buried inside of me and she is oh soooo happy! ;)

While going through my BB journey I also had the GREAT pleasure of meeting Monica....someone who has become a beloved friend to me. First she inspired me with her own story, and for a long time I sat in awe of her, then I got to know her and amazingly enough, she still inspires me and I still sit in awe of her. However, I also cherish her friendship and I am grateful for her amazing abilities and intuitive mind.

I'm sure there's a lot more to me than this....as my husband says, "you are a complex woman!" But this is a start, and I look forward to getting to know all the new members!

Be present in each moment and you will have divine peace.
Kim

I am a new member too!! Can i play, can i play? I'm Anthony Maez from Tucson, Az. I'm a new coach! I went through my Beachbody Transformation last year from july - october. I lost nearly 50 lbs total and lost 9" from my waist in 2008 while doing P90X. My goals are to, first. Take care of Tucson and get everyone around me involved in these programs, second, do as many pull ups as Tony Horton, and last, push my body everyday for the rest of my life, to make up for never pushing it prior to my transformation. Well, nice to meet all of you, keep in touch!

Hi Fit Club Network! I'm Alli, a friend of Monica and Dave's, also a Beachbody Coach thanks to their inspiration (and our friend, Lee's, too). I'm happy to be here, finally, on the message boards to "meet" you all.

Power 90 and P90X have been my workout programs of choice however, inspired by FCN's October challenge, I'm getting my head right to start Insanity in a few days.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!!!

I'm Tami and I've been using Beachbody programs since 2002 (ok seriously...that totally sounds like I'm introducing myself for an AA meeting...but I think I would qualify for a group called Exercise Anonymous...because seriously if I don't get my workout done for the day...it just doesn't feel complete.

Anyway, in 2002 my then boyfriend (now husband) and I got great results using Power 90 and ended up winning a trip to Kauai HI with Beachbody. (back in those days it was a $200 monthly prize for a male and female and the grand prize was a trip to Hawaii for a group of winners! Fast forward to 2007, and after having my 2nd child I used Power 90/P90 Masters Series and P90X to lose about 40 pounds of baby weight and have continued to keep that weight off using just about every Beachbody program out there. I am now in my 2nd to the last week of Insanity and seriously, it is the hardest cardio workout EVER!! But I really love it but I'm starting to miss Tony Horton's workouts so we'll see what I come up with for Monica's October challenge!

Anyway, I finally became a coach in March of 2008 after spending the previous year debating on whether or not I should do it. Being familiar with Beachbody, I knew I wanted to have a coach would I had something in common with and could relate to and thats why I chose Monica to be my coach and seriously...I couldn't have asked for a better coach! Can't wait until our family gets moved down to Phoenix later this year so I can really work on building my business!!

I have found that I truly enjoy sharing these programs with people because I know they work!!

So with that...its time for me to get my kiddos to bed....

take care everyone...
Tami

Hi Monica,

I downloaded the documents and the excel sheet from one of your links. I am 21 and currently attending College. I went into college 3 yrs ago weighing 180 pounds and after many big macs and food from the greasetrucks I am currently at 210 pounds!! I now have a big belly which is always in the back of my conscious.

I recently got the P90x program and am waiting on all the equipment to come in. I am really excited about the exercise part of this program and can def. commit to it. However, I feel really discouraged about the nutrition aspect of it. I don't know how to cook at all, and I really don't know anything about nutrition. I'm also a student paying my way through college and so I'm on a budget. I can manage to pay over $125 a month on fast food alone, so I don't know if that would be enough for the P90X program.

Also, I am not really sure about when I should be eating during the day. How long before/after workouts I should eat. I also don't know when is the ideal time to do the workouts. I would also like to know how much/what kind of vitamins I should be taking.

As you can see, I am really lost. I should get my equipment in about 2 weeks and then I will begin the program. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!!

BTW: I have been off of fast food for a month now and plan and cutting off drinking soda. I also live at home with family so I dont buy fast food everyday, only when I go with friends or am out til late.

Thanks!!!

Hi everyone, I'm new to these threads. Just love how they look like the old boards!

I started P90 in April of this year with amazing results. From July through now, I've been getting off track, and decided to get back on the bandwagon thanks to Monica's little reminders.

I knew Monica a long time ago, although we barely remember each other! We both went to Coronado High but only overlapped by a year or so. I also knew Dave in law school in the Pacific Northwest, and it took us something like a year to figure out that he was married to someone I had known in Coronado. Then, fast forward about 10 years, and I was calling Monica for a weight loss solution. And that's how I got here!

I've been married for 17 years, have two kids (4 and 6) and work full time as an attorney for the County. I like to really scare people by saying I'm a prosecuting attorney, but really I only handle land use and bankruptcies and employment law litigation, so it's not as sexy as I like to make it sound. :p

I'm going to be posting on the Holiday Challenge pages. See ya'll on the boards!

THANKS MONICA! I LOVE YOU!

WhiteMamba Once your P90X arrives, really take some time with the nutrition guide. It will answer a lot of your questions. I always think it is easiest to think of your body like a fire. If you've ever been camping you know that there is one way to burn a really strong fire, which is to regularly add good dry wood to it. Your body is the same way. Eating sugar and complex carbs is like throwing a bunch of leaves on the fire. They burn like crazy for a few minutes, but then the fire starts to die. You also can't overload the fire with too much wood at one time or it smothers it. That's what eating a huge meal (a Big Mac with fries and a coke is like 875 calories) does to your body. It kills the fire. Eat 5 meals a day to keep putting wood on the fire.

Print up the documents that are linked to the post that Monica sent you. I think you'll find that eating clean is cheaper than eating junk. Go grab a bunch of bananas and some other fruits and veggies and you'll see what I mean.

Hey everyone! I'm Brad in Palestine, TX. I've been through 2 rounds of P90X and I am currently doing Insanity. The latter one is really a killer workout, mainly because it's killing me! Hope to see you on the boards later.

My name is Brent Gray and I finally took the leap and joined Team Beachbody. I have been doing P90X since the beginning of the year and I love it. I got even more motivated after meeting Dave and Monica in Scottsdale (ironically enough Dave and I went to school together in Brussels Belgium and reconnected in Scottsdale through my brother who was in the same grade as Dave). Hearing Monica and Dave talk about Tony reenergized me to push on through some pretty tough workouts and time constraints I had thanks to work.

I recently relocated my family to Norther California for work so we I am happy to have a community like this to keep in contact with. I am really excited to be a part of this and to spread the word about all the great programs.

Thanks for letting me be a part.

Brent

I guess we got to meet you after P90X. I love those pictures, they tell the truth.
Congrats on the success.
Also, plan on coming back to Phx for Jan 22-24 because Tony Horton is doing his camp there. There is no greater gift than camp!

He is the man and he needs to meet you

Hola peeps!

I'm Jen, I'm a single parent, working full time. Both my kids have significant issues - 16 year old daughter has a high functioning form of Autism called Aspergers and 12 year old son with a wicked case of ADHD (mostly under control with medication) and outright tweenage surliness. Truth be told, I run and work out for my sanity. :D

I've been a runner for the past 5-6 years and started marathoning Fall of 2008. Love that distance! I did another one in the Spring and then three marathons this past Fall and had a blast doing each and every one! However, I decided that Minnesota winters are simply not conducive to Spring marathon training so instead I started P90X a few weeks ago. Totally digging the workouts. Today was the first day of week 4 - the Recovery Week. Core Synergistics. Momma! Recovery? Seriously? :p

Strangely enough, instead of thinking "Jeebus, I never want to do that again", my thoughts are "When do I do that one again so I can do it better?" This program just makes me want to push myself. It's great!

I haven't been following the eating plan at all. Just trying to eat as clean as I can. It's tough sometimes as I have this birth defect - I was born without willpower. I have particular weaknesses for peanut butter, chocolate and ice cream. Put them all together and <swoon> Nirvana!

I've been a member of an online running community pretty much since I started running. I'm hoping that I'll find the same level of support here for the P90Xing!

Happy fitnessing all!

Hi Jen!
It's a pleasure to meet you and welcome to the boards!
I so envy you with the running! I might have to gt some pointers from you. i always try to take it up but quickly fail because i just don't have the endurance for it- mentally or physically!

thanks for sharing your story and welcome again to our little family! you definitely came to the right place for support!

Warm Regards,
Tara

Tara,

Get thee a running buddy! Having someone to chat with really helps the miles pass quickly and easily AND having someone waiting for you holds you accountable. Before you know it, you'll be hooked on running!

Just my 2 cents. :)

Hi All!

Christine here, writing from the border of MA and NH - watching the snow fall.

I'd been drooling over the P90X infomercials for the last year or so. This Christmas my sister and her boyfriend got me P90X- thanks Kate and Jordan!!!

Some background on me: I am a relatively fit individual - over the past summer I reached my personal fitness best when I trained for and completed for three sprint triathlons, two century rides and the Baltimore relay marathon (my leg was 7.6 miles). I have never been a runner, so this was HUGE for me. :D

Now that I know what I'm capable of, I want to push myself to the next level - I'm planning to do at least 2 half marathons and 2 international distance tris this summer... I would be thrilled to get a "beach-body" while I'm at it! I've always been athletic and muscular - but there always seems to be a layer of fat covering everything.

For me, nutrition is going to be the hardest part of this program - I don't really want to go without coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine from time to time. Dave told me today about the 90/10 principle - and I'm going to try to work towards that for now.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better - good luck on your own personal journeys!

Dave
