View Full Version : Creatine and a BCAA after workout

Hi,

I'm new to this board and I must congratulate you on it, it's well organized with a wealth of information.

I have been drinking a serving of creatine along with a serving of a BCAA blend immediately after my workouts. Is this a good idea? I do seem to feel better when I drink it than when I don't, and I do seem to be gaining some strength in all areas, what I'm concerned about is I don't seem to be dropping the lbs like I thought I should. I am working out about 5 days a week and burning about 1000 calories per workout.

Any advice you can give me on how to maximize the results of that workout? I mean to burn about 5K calories per week and trying to stay within a 2500 calorie diet, I guess I would expect somewhat different results.

I just put up a new post on this topic yesterday. http://www.thefitclubnetwork.com/2011/01/p90x-recovery-formula-drink-alternative/. I don't specifically cover BCAA's or Creatine. BCAA's are fine. Creatine is an individual choice. It basically makes your muscles retain water, so they look bigger. Excessive doses can result in kidney issues. In smaller doses it is fine.
