Hi everyone, I am a 32 year old male 5' 7" and 164lbs. I started a P90x/Insanity hybrid around 3 months ago and in the first two months I lost around 9lbs and 3 inches off my belly. However in the last month it seems I have hit a plateau and have not lost any more weight and all my measuremants havent changed. I have been eating around 1800 -1900 calories in phase I and have just started phase 2 eating the same amount of calores. I was wondering should I up the calories to around 2000 -2100. The P90x nutrition guide says I should be eating around 2400 which seems alot for me. Any advice would be appreciated.

This sounds like the P90X nutrition guide. If you look at the last step in the calorie calculation, they add back 600 calories to make sure you don't run a calorie deficit. That's because P90X was originally intended for people who were already very fit looking to become even fitter - i. e. people not interested in weight loss. So if the guide says you should eat 2400 calories, then 1800 is about your RMR plus a desk job. So what you're currently eating should be fine provided you don't burn a crazy amount of calories in each workout.
I did something very similar myself in terms of calorie deficits - I'm eating around 1800 a day, I'm 5'6" and 140 lbs now, started at 160 lbs. Shrunk two dress sizes both times I did P90X. Since there's no obvious problem, you have two basic choices:
1) Give it some time, knowing that weight loss isn't a straight arrow down
2) Up the calories and see what happens.
I think it's a judgement call. Bodies aren't straightforward.
Do you know how many calories you burn in a workout?

Hi,,,
No doubt excessive calories for a normal person is not good for us so we avoid the calories...
We should use certain amount of calories to maintain our health...
You raise a good point...
