I wanted to take a quick minute and saw hello to everyone here at The Fit Club Network. I started P90X yesterday Jan 2nd. I started the program about 6 months ago but after about 3 weeks hurt my neck/back doing pullups and it took me about 3-4 weeks to recover. After that I did mainly cardio portions of the program as well as some running outside.

Need some help. My main goal over the next few months is weight loss. I'm 5' 10" and weighted in yesterday at 204. For the last few years I have kept my weight around 195. My goal for 2010 is to get back into very good shape and I would like to get back to 185.

Since P90X isn't as much about weight loss as it is turning fat into muscle I wondered if anyone could share some tips on things I need to do to hit my main target of losing 15-20 lbs. Should I follow the regular program schedule??

Thanks for any and all input.

Roger:)

Roger - Hey and thanks for joining us.

To lose weight you need to cut calories. You are spot on about the purpose and design of P90X and its nutrition plan. Have you looked over this post: http://bit.ly/XrUfS. Cut your calories down by about 400 to promote weight loss. Be sure you monitor yourself. You want to be sure to have enough energy to get through the workouts.

From there...JUST BRING IT.

How can something that hurts so bad make you feel so good? Man I love Plyometrics. Finished day 2 a little while ago and I love this workout. Get the heart rate up, great cardio! OK only 88 more days to go.:)

Roger - Yeah, Plyo rules. Serious calorie burn, and it will make you stronger across the board. Wait until you do yoga!

OK just finished day 3 and must say that Ab Ripper kicked my butt today. Still sour from 2 days ago. Averaged about 15 of the 25 reps in each exercise before it hurt to hard to go on!

Damn I never knew hurt could feel so good!

Woohoo!! Another Ohioan! I live near Cleveland... where it apparently is going to snow every day this year. lol. I've lived in every corner of the state except for the SW. Beautiful state!

Stacey:

Good to see you here. I live on the west side of Cleveland - Avon. We lucked out up until now with the snow and now I think we are paying the price.

Just finished Day 4 Yoga!

Long workout but man do I feel good after it. Nice and relaxed. Hardest part I can see is finding and making the time to do the entire 1.5 hour workout.

Hope all is well with you and look forward to getting to know you better!

Take care.

Congrats on the progress! How's week 2 been treating you? FYI, we're supposed to get freezing rain tonight, so be careful out there! Glad to meet someone that lives so close! Avon's not too far away, if you time the traffic right.. haha.

I'm in Medina! So, there's 3 of us NE Ohio people here. :D I'd never move further north because of the snow. Medina is just barely far enough south that we can still drive without making snow tunnels. ;)

WOW, that's cool you guys are all from Ohio. I have to tell you a funny story about this weekend. We went to Tony's camp here in Phoenix...AMAZING!!! I could go on forever about that, but what was awesome to see was that Bart, Todd, Sarah, Miki, and Cathy from the P90X Holiday Challenge thread all were there. You should have seen them. They were like family, but only Bart and Todd had previously met. It was awesome to see how close they had become. Monica and I were so happy that we could provide them a place to become such good friends. It never ceases to amaze me how this experience unites us together.

Have a great day guys, and think about getting together to do a group workout in the first year of your friendship unlike that lot who waited about 3 years!
