Hey there-

Hoping to get some advice on what I can exchange tricep dips for. We are doing INSANITY...I have rheumatoid arthritis and the dips are killer on my wrists...do you think I can just exchange it for maybe just using a weight instead (skullcrushers I think is what the names of the exercise I'm thinking of?)? Any suggestions??

Thanks so much.

Amanda

Hey there - I think you can substitue whatever you like without too much of an issue. You might check out the Power Stands. I use them for all the push up exercise, and they work great for the floor dips. They take nearly all the pressure off of your wrists. Here's an old video I shot about them.

If not, just sub out a tricep exercise. And if you use Skullcrushers, DON'T SMASH YOUR FACE!

Hi Amanda,

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis as well and Dips are easier on my wrist if my upper body is elevated, like on a chair, and I keep my legs bent rather than straight and keep both feet on the ground to begin with...

That's where I started and then build on that.
