I've been using EAS whey protein with Skim milk for 2 proteins/2 dairy servings per day, just for the sake of helping me get my 9 protein servings.
I'm on phase 1, level 3. I'm limited to 1 serving of carbs a day. Peole have said a good recovery drink should have a carb 4: protein 1 ratio. How can I do that with only 1 serving of carbs/day?
You may not need recovery formula. This video explains what recovery formula and why you only get 1 carb in Phase I. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcfrllWEq5E. Assess your performance and intensity. Do you have a heart rate monitor?
If you do need recovery formula, you could count it as a carb. We typically don't do that. What you want to do is match your carb intake to your activity/intensity. It's a learning process, and will take some time. If you have a really hard workout, then you can have recovery formula. Otherwise you may not need it.
Sorry for the late response.

I do have a Mio Classic heart rate monitor. After watching your videos I don't think I need a recovery drink at this point because my goal is to twofold: lose weight and tone muscle. Both happen at the same time when I'm doing the cardio, plus the 15 rep/exercise. Being that right now I'm 6' 220 lbs I've got some extra weight to lose and I don't want to glyco stored in my fat where it doesn't belong. Maybe later on in the program when I've got more muscle and less fat and have more endurance to do the plyo without pressing pause when I get up past 175, I'll consider it.
Thanks,
Adam
That sounds like a good plan to me. Keep an eye on your heart rates.
