Hello everybody!

I am trying to get everything set before my P90X comes in the mail, I have a couple of questions.

Would you recommend supplements, and which ones? Shakeology? What about a recovery shake? What would you recommend?

Thanks for the advice!

I personally would suggest at least the recovery drink. I feel like i don't get as sore when I drink it. It is very good tastes like an orange creamsicle.

I also use Shakeology as a meal replacement shake.

Jimmylajoie Talk to me about your goals and I'll give you some more input. Generally I agree with John, but let me know. You do need some way to address your base nutritional needs. Supplements are not going to do you any good if you don't address the basic needs your body has for vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, and digestion. That's what is great about Shakeology. It does all that stuff.

I plan on using the 2000 Calorie Low-Carb, that I selected from the Team Beachbody site. I've read and watched the videos from your site, I'm having a hard time understanding all the information, but I'm new at this so it's expected. I think it would be best for me, if I could follow a meal plan without me adjusting it to much. Like I said earlier, I lack the knowledge for me to make substitutions myself, but on the other hand the fact that I can come here and ask questions is great. My goals are to firm-up, lose weight, and change the way I live my life. I weigh 210lbs and would like to get down to 180, the healthy way. I plan on buying Shakeology, I like the fact that it's much more than just a meal replacement. I am also going to get the P90X Results and Recovery. I plan on using your site to buy these products (I believe I can). My coach is Monica Ward, I would like to give you guys all the credit I can, you guys have been a great help. Please give me all the advice you can, I would love to use it. Oh ya, is this the right place to ask you questions?

Jimmy This is an ongoing learning process. We've been educated how to eat by large corporations whose primary interest is not our nutritional health, but their bottom line. Since I was born, I've watched their television commercials and fallen victim to half truth advertising claiming things are "fat free", but neglecting to point out the fat has been replaced with sugar and chemicals. Take the time to learn more and it will really help you. After all, this is your body we are talking about so there's nothing more important. I learn more every day.

Just log on to your profile page and click Shop. I asked about your goals only because if you have blood sugar issues, you need to be a little careful with the Recovery Formula. It is not necessarily low on the glycemic index. Shakeology is truly outstanding.

Dave, do you and Monica drink Shakeology in place of say lunch? Or is it used as a snack in between meals?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark - We use it differently. I have it every morning, almost without exception. I usually throw a scoop of whey in it to up the calories. One scoop gets it to about 250 cal (with some almond milk). Two gets it closer to 375. I just kind of eyeball my previous night's work and the day's activity to determine one scoop or two. So, it is my breakfast. It is 10:30 right now and I'm just starting to get hungry. I really got after it last night, so I went with the two scoops of whey.

Monica typically uses it as a snack. She keeps it pretty lean and mean, and I think most of hers are right around 200 calories (a double snack per the P90X plan).

So, I think you can use it either as a snack or as a meal replacement. I do suggest that you put something in it (almond milk, almond butter, bananas in chocolate and OJ, & fruit in greenberry) and some protein to up the caloreis if you are going to use it to replace a meal.
