I'm new to the site. I found it through Google after I searched for terms that had to do with doing P90X without the nutrition. I plan on starting P90X sometime early in April after I run my first marathon in Los Angeles on March 21st. I was a little nervous about the nutrition that I wouldn't be able to eat the meals exactly, but I came across thefitnetwork's page that included the excel file for eating right with P90X and I liked seeing how you guys didn't say that you had to stick with only the foods that P90X says, but that they can be supplemented with other foods that are equal in calories, nutrition, etc.

I'm a runner who started seriously running after Thanksgiving in 2007. Since then, I've completed 4-5 5ks (my recent one I placed 3rd overall), 2 10ks, a half-marathon in Huntington Beach last year, and hopefully my first marathon in L.A in a couple of months. I've lost over 50+ pounds from running, but I'm kinda stuck between 178-190+ and have hit kind of a plateau.

Welcome to the site MSgherzi! Glad you found us!!! You have definitely come to the right place. Our network is full of highly motivated, highly knowledgeable, passionate athletes, many of whom have obtained elite status in endurance sporting events. I feel confident that you will be able to find sound answers to all of your questions if you post them on here.

I am alot like you. I sort of enjoyed running in the past but now I am very interested in running and hope to run a half in San Fran in July. Over the past year, I completed two rounds of p90x back to back and I am about to finish my first round of Insanity. I am in love with these programs as the results I see and more importantly FEEL are incredible! The nutrition plans for both programs are so well-designed and I can definitely notice it on days when my eating has not been according to plan. I am not as able to push myself and I usually bonk quite early. Also, have you checked out the Shakeology, It has radically changed my health and fitness, it is just as they say "The healthiest meal of the day." I love it, it tastes great and I feel absolutely incredible. I've never had this much energy before in my life. And I know that I would never have been able to complete Insanity had I not begun drinking it daily. It is a simple and easy way to meet all your nutritional needs on a daily basis. I highly encourage you to check it out.

Again, welcome! We are glad you have found us!

Matt Welcome to the Boards! Always nice to have more athletes here. You may have read my profile, so I won't bore you too much, but I started racing triathlon in 2008. For about 6 months I thought I couldn't do anything but that. WRONG. I'll give you some more specific thoughts a bit later where you posted your question, but P90X is a great tool to use for cross training with endurance sports. You'll find more power than you ever knew you had, and your flexibility will increase. Both very good things.

Anyway, I have to run right now, but I wanted to give you a quick hello and welcome.

Welcome to the boards! My husband and I have fairly recently gotten into running, so it's neat to see your progression. We've run several 5Ks and ran our first 1/2 marathon this past November. We plan to do two this year, and several other shorter races, but I don't know that I'll ever have the desire to run a marathon. Don't know that I ever want to run that long! :D

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know you! :)
