I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between the two products that Beach Body sells.

P90X Results and Recovery Formula (http://www.beachbody.com/product/supplements/p90x_peak_performance/p90x_peak_recovery_formula.do)

and

Whey Protein Powder (http://www.beachbody.com/product/supplements/muscle_enhancement/whey_protein_powder.do)

I'm reading blogs and reviews of people who say you need both. But I thought that the P90X Results and Recovery Formula did what Whey Protein Powder was supposed to do?

Can someone clear this up for me?

Thanks!

They are different beasts indeed. The recovery formula is a 4:1 (carbs:protein) drink with creatine and amino acids. It has a lot of sugars in it, which your body can metabolize after you workout and it can use to repair. Don't use it late at night, because all the sugar causes an insulin response and don't use it unless you've really killed a workout. It isn't something you should use in the middle of the day as a meal replacement. Here's a short video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phH2AHuo5zg.

Protein powder should be a part of your daily nutrition. Your body needs it throughout the day to support muscle growth.

Does that make sense?
