Hi All,
I'm Tiffany from Tampa. (alliteration - gotta love it) In December 2009 I read an article in Women's Health (it was the Pink interview) and P90X caught my attention. Went home to NC for Christmas and discovered that my brother was in his 3rd week of P90X (he's almost finished now and has lost close to 30 lbs!). I had not seen the infomercials or even heard of it before, but it seemed like everywhere I turned, there was P90X. So I started researching it and quickly discovered that as a cardio junkie with very little muscle, I would have a problem just jumping into it. I decided to do Power 90 for awhile until I felt like I'd be in a better position to start P90X and I'm SO GLAD I did! Did Power 90 for 6 weeks and built a bit of upper body strength first. Still doing pushups from my knees and using bands instead of pullups but at least I can do pushups now!
I waffled between Classic and Lean but decided on Classic. And I'm fortunate in that I like (to some degree) every workout except Plyo. Man, Plyo KILLS me. So it makes Tuesdays hard (thus, the reason I'm on the boards instead of pushing play). :o
Glad to find this forum!

Hey Tiffany,
I just responded to your post about oblique v-ups, but welcome to the forum. Your story mimics mine from 2 years ago. Cardio Junkie with puny arms and no strength at all in my upper body. Instead of working out to Power 90 first I saw a personal trainer three days a week for a couple months then this time last year hit P90X hard. Have completed two rounds now, as well as Insanity, and am now in the middle of a hybrid plan with p90x and insanity. I am as happy as I have ever been with the shape of my body and with my health and nutrition! I want to encourage you to stick with Classic all the way through. I did both rounds in the Classic format and I am extremely proud of the results! Plyo is a killer but it is an amazing cardio workout. Keep pressing play and keep coming here for support. We truly love and support each other. I did not find out about these boards until after I completed both rounds of P90X completely in isolation with no support or motivation from like-minded people. I sorely wish that I had known about the boards sooner! It would have made pressing play so much more fun to know that others were following my story and supporting me! Tell your friends to jump on here too! The more the merrier!
Shannon

Hang in there Tiffany! When I first started P90X 36 days ago, Plyo was NOT my favorite either. Now I absolutely love it...it KILLS me, but I love it! I have to tell myself each time I do Plyo that I am going to "Bring It"...if not it would be easy for my mind to take control and let me dog it...this is probably the workout that I push myself the hardest just to make sure I get through it and do my best.
Glad to have you on the boards. Also good to see another NC girly (though in FL now) representing!
Keep us posted on your journey and we are all here to support each other!

Welcome Tiffany. Plyo will come in time, just try doing a bit more each time.
It's great to see another face from Florida.
Netty - I see you are from Florida too. Very Cool.
If you have any questions about anything I'd be glad to help.
Keep pushing play,
Mike

Welcome Tiffany!
When I started, I did Plyo for two weeks, then shelved it in favor of Cardio X, which is a little bit of Plyo, Kenpo, and Core Syn - and shorter. It's a great alternative to the full Plyo if you find that too difficult. I have to tell you though, after about 5-6 weeks of X, it got to be too easy, so I put Plyo back in the rotation. I am proud to say that I can now get through the whole thing without pushing pause, and I can keep up with the peeps on the video. My point is, keep at it. Push pause, but try to do better than you did last week. Soon you'll be killing it.
