I'm sure someone has asked this/answered this before, but where does a whole egg fall in? I have egg whites on hand but sometimes I like to have one or two eggs for breakfast. Would one egg be one protein? I know we are going for maximum food intake, but what is everyones idea on whole eggs and how do I count them?

Whole eggs- Usually if you are lacking calories or trying to aim for hypertrophy whole eggs can be good.
Egg whites- Great source of protein with less calories. Good for weight loss.
I think Mark Sisson had an article on eggs.

I think he is talking about whole eggs. So there are benefits to whole eggs. I personally dont rely on Mark Sisson completely ( I am more of a skeptical/experiment type person) but yes most of his articles are quite intriguing and full of info.

Egg whites are a protein. 6 whites = 1 protein

I usually loosely count whole eggs as protein too, but if you want more precision you could count the yolk as a fat. Nearly all of the fat is in the yolk, but that's also where most of the nutrients other than protein are, including omega-3 fatty acids. As mentioned before, whether you see that as a problem or not depends on your point of view.

I think you can count them as a protein as well. Since 6 egg whites = 1 protein, you are probably looking at about 4 whole eggs.
I'm with Hassan on the egg thing. HOWEVER, look over Sisson's buying guide. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/egg-purchasing-guide/. This is important stuff. Get organic eggs only and get them locally raised if you can. I'm starting to be far more concerned with what the food I'm eating, ate than I ever have before. It has made a big difference in my fitness. The foods I'm eating are more nutritious because they are fed better.
