So here I am, one year later after beginning my P90X journey and I need to find something new to eat for breakfast. In the beginning it was easy for me to eat Eggs in the morning because it gave me the protein that I need. Today I workout in the morning and I recover with the P90X R and R Formula and a breakfast of 1 Egg + 4 Egg Whites Scrambled with Pepper and Chives, and either 1 piece of Turkey Bacon or 2 Veggie Sausage Patties. This breakfast has served me well but I'm looking for some variety!

What other breakfast options are you guys using! I'd like to stay away from too many grain carbs and stick to the protein and fats if possible.

Any good recipes?

How about a smoothie with fruit and a scoop of protein? Its quick and simple.

Another one that I saw but have not tried is a WW English muffin toasted and topped with a soy sausage pattie and a 1 oz slice of mozz low fat cheese. That has your carb though....

That's all I got, funny cuz this am when I was thinking about breakfast I said to myself "what could I have that is eggless?" I get tired of eggs easily. So I just had some cereal with fruit. I will just have to get extra protein throughout the day.

good luck.

Smoothie! Duh - what an obvious one that I was completely forgetting. I'm sure I could mix something up with my protein and some fruit that would be great. Also thinking about doing some oatmeal with protein powder mixed in. Does it mix well with boiled water?

Breakfast without eggs! I would be in trouble!

My primal food plan leaves out a lot of options for you but how about this:

Banana & Almond Butter Pancakes

1 banana
1-2 Tbs of almond butter
1 egg
Agave nectar

*I do not have the nutritional info in front of me

Mush up banana and mix in the a butter
Add egg
Make sure skillet is hot (I use coconut oil) and make sure to make small pancakes because they are softer than flour pancakes. You need to get a feel for heat and flipping styles but it is fun to learn ;)
We use agave nectar instead of syrup.

YOU WILL LOVE THESE

BTW: Not sure where you want to be with carb calorie intake but be careful with fruit smoothies. The carbs add up fast!

Jim - I like it! I'm definitely going to give these a try. I know the carb intake with smoothies can add up quick, I always use fresh fruit to help cut back on the sugars they include in frozen fruit blends. Thanks for your help!

Have you tried Shakeology yet? It is an excellent breakfast! I mix it with Almond Milk (4 oz), 1 TB All Natural Peanut Butter and a half banana. Sooooo good.
