View Full Version : Sick--How to Pick Up

Hey all--

Unfortunately I came down with something (virus-y, I believe, since I had a fever) at the end of my Week 1 of P90X. I spent most of my "off" day (Sunday, Stretch) in bed and woke up today feeling largely better. I'm sure I'll take today off from the X and should start back tomorrow...Wednesday at the latest. Taking into account that following the nutrition plan was difficult yesterday, should I continue with Week 2 normally and pick up where I left off? Or should I fit the lost workouts in somewhere?

Thanks for your input!
Scott

Hi,

I would pick up where you left off. Trying to fit too many exercise into a few days can wear you out. Specially if you where sick.
I would say get some rest, feel better, recover, then hit it hard again.

Get well soon.

I second Marvin - just keep going. Life will never be perfect, but it does have to be lived anyway. I've tried to make up workouts like that and I think it works okay when you're unemployed and have nothing else that's tough to do in your day. And even then it's kind of rough on your body.

it actually took me 104 days to finish P90X my first go around. I was sick the second and 5th week. I was sick so I had to skip week 2 - so I started week 2 again the following week.

In the fitness guide it talks about missing workouts, as long as you aren't doing the same routine for more than 6 weeks, I believe it says, than you're good to go. More than 6 weeks and the whole muscle confusion goes out the window.
