I am getting my meal plan together and need to know how to classify soy milk. I wouldn't think it is a dairy. Also I need to know about adding ingredients when cooking. For example when I make marinara sauce I would normally add finely diced carrots, onions, garlic and celery to it in addition to herbs and salt and pepper. Is this okay or is it considered and extra vegetable serving? I would think it doesn't matter since marinara sauce is a vegetable anyway.
