Introductions:

Scott from Oregon. Retire Navy of 22 years, Husbend for 16 and father of 2. In the past year I have been in life style change mode to get myself healthy again and be "an example" for my kids. I am 45 and 5'7" and used to weigh close to 200 pounds after I had retired I got very lazy. To much wrong food and to much laying around. Last year I had had enough and around March I changed up what I was eating, went out and got me some equipment and went to work. I am now on the 165 platue and need to change things up again. After talking with Dave I see that my Cal intake is to low. Still on Mayo Clinic eating plan. So no I am prepping for starting P90X soon. Before I start I am going to finalize my eating plan 1st as I procure the other items I'll need. One of the things I am looking at is the recovery drink. In the past, not presently, I have used Pro-Complex for this purpose. I am a early exerciser...5am-630am so I have a delima on pre and post work out meals. The only other time I could workout would be in the late PM after dinner, which is normally reserved for family time which I am not filling to give up, although I am finding myself doing Just Dance Wii with my kids...which is fun..guess that can count as some cardio hehe. In the meantime while I am work out my meal plans I am doing a 2 week fatloss boot camp I found online. On day 4 of that which is cardio intervals and stretchs. Finding myself a little sore after 2 weeks off for Christmas/New Years. Gonna do the fit test tonight as well to see where I am at.

Going to start P90X Monday. Should have my pull-up bar this week and then I will be ready to rock. Also want to finish the 2 week fatloss boot camp I started as an after the holidays get the body going again after a week break. Wonder if the kiddos are gonna want to play just dance again...seems they will only do it unless I am doing it with them. lol.

Hey Scott, welcome!!
I'm retired Military as well, so its great hearing from another retired vet.
Good luck with P90X, you'll really enjoy it and you will get the results that you are after for sure.
Once you get started and have any questions be sure to ask us, there are many P90X experts here.
Good Luck and it was great to meet you,
Mike

Hi Stacey,

Thanks for the welcome, work out plans are good, but getting my eating plan nailed down will be a challenge as I eat 3 out 5 meals while at work so have to pack it with me.

Awesome. It's good to get a couple weeks of workouts in before starting P90X, you should be able to handle it a bit better.
Have a great week and get some good rest on Sunday before your Day 1 on Monday.
