Picked up P90X today and have started planning my meals and workouts. I have about 25 pounds to lose to reach a goal weight. Looking forward to talking with everyone.

Couple of questions starting out.
The supplements. Looking at the cost of all the vitamins, recovery drink, protein powder, shakeology, bars, etc. I am getting a little overwhelmed. That about $300 a month in supplements. What does everyone do with this?

How much protein do I need from a Whey Protein Powder? beachbody has 18g but the local store has powder with 50g per serving. Can my body even absorb 50g at one time?

P90X is such an awesome program and I am excited you are here to spend it with us. We hope you'll take full advantage of the support you get here and get the most out of your program.
Supplements:

I am VERY attached Beachbody supplements.
You have choices: #1 You do NOT have to be on EVERY supplement recommended. For example, the bars and Shakeology are both meal replacements. Personally, I LOVE the shakeology over the bars.

I only take activit not the peak performance formula....just a personal preference and very occasionally the whey protein.

All of our supplements are made of ingredients from the highest available.
You decide what you want to use verses what is recommended and the $300 price goes down.

Of course as a coach, you get the immediate 25% discount. So couple that with the need only to have the supplements that you'll want to use, you could save yourself a lot of money.
