You read the label and see 0 calories, o sugar and 0 carbohydrates. I think there is maybe 3% sodium though if I remember. My favorite drink of all time is Diet Mountain Dew. The question is with a P90X diet is it good or not good to consume this drink?

I'm a Type-1 (insulin-dependent) diabetic.... so regular "soda" (as you crazy Americans call it) is off-limits for me anyways. So when I do drink it, I prefer the Crush brand stuff - it's sweetened with Splenda (a derivative of sugar that's not absorbed by the body), which is better than aspartame or many other artificial sweetners. As with any vices "excess in moderation" is my motto. Don't have one every day, but use it as an occasional treat so you don't binge on it at a later point and wreck things for yourself. I have been known to indulge in the Diet Code Red Mountain Dew (MY personal favourite!!), but it's not an every-day thing. As Tony puts it: "DRINK YER WATER, PEOPLE!!!"
Hope that helps!
Hey Guys - Diet Soda is very, very bad for you. It's not about calories or sugar. The issue has to do with the acidity of sodas generally and then the rather addictive nature of the artificial sweeteners used for diet sodas. Here's a blog post with video that explains everything.

Dave,
Do you know. or have heard, or might know, if this elevated acidity in the blood could lead to symptoms o fibromyalgia that seems to be sweeping the country.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you very much Dave I am trying to turn over a new leaf. To start off I'm only going to have my diet dew on special occasions and maybe once a week. I'm eventually going to ween it off totally.
@Scott - I have not heard that, but it's certainly possible.
@Culverman11 - Glad to help.
Dave
