If you follow the P90X diet you notice that every day you have a BAR required into you daily nutrition. If you look at the P90X protein bars they are not cheap. I was wondering if any of you have a substitute you use (hopefully a cheaper one) that has about the same nutritional value.

They actually have the P90X protein bars on clearance right now. It's the old formula, which still works, but they're cheaper than the new formula ones. You get 12 per box, so it's not too bad.
As for other protein bars, I'm not really sure. I don't usually use them. I end up adding more protein in other ways, like with more lean meat or with my Greek yogurt, which has 12g protein per serving.

Stacey,
Which Greek yogurt are you using? I am using Chobani during the anternoon snack time.

Cheap protein bars pretty much don't exist. I buy the Clifs Builder's bars sometimes but they're even pricier than the P90X bars. I like them though! Good stuff. When I started doing P90X I was fretting over the cost of.. everything, from the bars to the Shakeology to the recovery drink... but now I just consider them the way I do grocery costs. Theoretically speaking, sure, it'd be nice to not have to spend any money on that, but if I want to live my life the way I want to live it that's just something you have to pay for. I don't HAVE to eat good food either, I just don't want to live without it!

Scott, I have been using Dannon's Greek Yogurt. I love the taste and the availability of it (heck.. it's even at Wal-Mart!) The vanilla is my favorite because I can add my own whole fruit and granola to it.

Scott,
I usually get a lot of protein through my diet like Stacey. However, I have tried the Special K Protein bars and liked them. I got them at BJs and they were pretty cheap, it has been awhile though. I forget what the ratios in them are, I liked their taste and looked at them as a treat and not just a protein source.

I have not tried the Dannon yet. I have tried Yoplait, but settled on Chobani for now, although I did not like the plain version and yet the ones with fruit. It does require stirring really well.
I have not concerned the Special K Protein bars before. What are the ingredients?
