P90x Holiday Challenge
To whoever is interested, I've been rounding up people via facebook...
New round of P90x starting first Saturday, Sunday, or Monday ( you pick ) of October so when 2010 rings in you can wave goodbye to all your unfit friends you know will quit the gym because you'll already be in shape!!
Combined with ArizonaFitClub's clean eating challenge... you'll be sure to see amazing results!!
Any takers?

Great Idea
Perfect mix of nutrition and fitness. Why not start up a round of P90X, or something similar, right now? I'm going to be mixing it up a little bit. I have a bike race this Saturday and may do another one on November 1st if this weekend works out. After that is the Phoenix Rock n' Roll Half Marathon in Mid-January and then the big Half-Ironman race in April. So, now is really the perfect time to start strength training. So, I'll be doing P90X (or Tony's One-on-One's depending) for strength training and mostly cycling and running until it is time to start mixing in some swimming sets for the April race. I'm a big believer that strength training is not only fun but reduces the chances of getting injured.
So, let's go!

Here is what I will be doing over the next 60 days or so.
Weeks 1-3 – Sept 28 – Oct 12th (Will be working out with Tony Horton in Dana Point at The Game Plan during this Phase, so that’s going to be fun) The goal here is to build base fitness, particularly with the run. I’ll be focused on running for distance, not time here. Just good old fashioned jogging for the most part.
Monday – Either P90X Core Synergistics or One-on-One Core Ball Sandwich (”CBS”).
Tuesday – Double Day – AM ride or run and PM Yoga X or One-on-One Patience Hummingbird depending on time.
Wednesday – P90X Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X.
Thursday – Double Day – AM run and PM Yoga X or One-on-One Patience Hummingbird depending on time.
Friday – P90X Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X.
Saturday – BRICK (bike/run…ick). 40 to 50 mile bike ride followed by runs of varying lengths.
Sunday – Football X on the Couch.
Week 4 – Recovery Week – Oct 19th
Monday – Yoga X or Hummingbird
Tuesday – Core Syn or CBS
Wednesday – Easy run or ride.
Thursday - X-Stretch
Friday - Yoga
Saturday – Saturday bike ride (40-60 miles), optional run afterwards.
Sunday – Off
Weeks 5-7 – Oct 26th – Nov 9th. The focus during this Phase is on speed with the run. I’ll be doing speed intervals twice a week to get faster. I may mix in some swimming here, but the run is my weakest event, so that’s my focus.
Monday – Either P90X Core Synergistics or One-on-One Core Ball Sandwich (”CBS”).
Tuesday – Double Day – AM run and PM Yoga X or One-on-One Patience Hummingbird depending on time.
Wednesday – P90X Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X.
Thursday – Double Day – AM run and PM Yoga X or One-on-One Patience Hummingbird depending on time.
Friday – P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps and Ab Ripper X.
Saturday – BRICK (bike/run…ick). 40 to 50 mile bike ride followed by runs of varying lengths.
Sunday – Football X on the Couch.
Week 8 – Recovery Week – Nov 16th
Monday – Yoga X or Hummingbird
Tuesday – Core Syn or CBS
Wednesday – Easy run or ride.
Thursday - X-Stretch
Friday - Yoga
Saturday – Saturday bike ride (40-60 miles).
Sunday – Off
After the end of Phase II, I will reassess where I’m at and whether all this is working for me. I have a 14 week training plan for my Half-Ironman race in April that will kick off at the end of November. The plan starts fairly easily, so I will likely just repeat Phase I, but substitute Chest & Back for Legs & Back. That will take me into the harder weeks of the triathlon plan. More on that later, but I’ll keep doing Core Syn or CBS and yoga throughout the triathlon training period. That served me well during my training for the San Diego International, and this is going to be a lot harder than that was.

YO.......I'm in, like 2 days ago.

Well ok then, looks like everyone is rearing to go!! Awesome!!
I'm still debating when I want my rest day to be... and really because I go out and dance quite a bit its not like I have any kind of rest day... so trying to figure out how I want the days to fall... since kenpo is cardio and I burn about 1600 calories per night of dancing anyway according to my bodybugg... I could easily just substitute my Friday outing in for Kenpo x..
I probably will be starting up next Sunday and the rest day will fall on Saturday...

I'll be doing 60 more days of Insanity
I'm with you Dave and Monica. My little group just started last week, but I figure that is close enough. Who's counting anyway. We've got 7 Insanity workouts in the bag.
If you look at these photos close enough all you will see is clean, clean, clean. (and 1 banana that needs to get into a smoothie REAL soon.) This is me dropping the FOOD HAMMER.

Helen - Going to Fit Club Tonight? We'd love to have a Vet in our midst.
Moods - Rest smesht. Bring it.
Steve - Here you go. This is the idea. Get all the junk out of your house and replace it with good food choices. If you make a good choice when you go to the store, then you only have to choose once. You don't have the junk choice at home. Good looking bunch of chow here Steve. Hey, is it your birthday? Happy Birthday Steve!
