Nutrition Tips for Weight Loss

Good nutrition is really pretty simple. Eat lean proteins, fruits, veggies, and whole grains. But, we can all feel overwhelmed when making a change, so I wanted to pass along some of my top nutrition tips for weight loss to you.

Each Beachbody program comes with a nutritional program that incorporates all of the above foods into their plans. Do not be afraid to trust a program and tweak it as you become more informed.

I have maintained my weight loss with Beachbody programs for six years now and I would never consider myself an expert on nutrition. When I first started, my only nutritional goal was to eat less of what I already was eating. I reduced my intake by 25% and started exercising. If I ate toast for breakfast, I left the butter off. If I ate eggs, I ate one less yolk. Each decision reduced my overall daily calorie count and lead to progress in my weight loss program.

After going to one of Tony Horton’s fitness camps, I started paying closer attention to refining my dietary decisions. I learned to stay away from processed foods, white sugar and white flour. I learned healthier ways to prepare my favorite foods, such as steaming, grilling, baking, broiling, and boiling. I started using more natural ingredients and buying fresh, local, organic, hormone and pesticide-free foods. I started organizing my healthy recipes.

Here are my top three nutrition tips for weight loss:

  1. Be informed. Know the good foods and the bad foods so you can fill your home with all the healthy stuff. If you don’t have the bad stuff in the house, you won’t be eating the bad stuff!
  2. Be prepared. Keep your house stocked with healthy food. Pre-pack healthy snacks and have good things ready to grab in the fridge and pantry.
  3. Make good decisions. YOU are responsible for your success. You’ll have lots of support from me [your Beachbody coach] and the supportive community, but YOU need to set yourself up for continued success.

There is no greater gift you can give yourself than the gift of good health. Fuel your body with nutritious foods, exercise most days, and encourage your friends and family to be active with you. I love being on this fitness journey with you!

If you have questions or you’re feeling overwhelmed, think about getting me assigned to be your Coach. There’s no cost (it’s included in the price of all Beachbody products). I’ll calm you down!
