Thoughts on the Primal / Paleo Diet and Carbs
We are fresh off the Beachbody Success Club Cruise. We got to visit Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten, workout with Shaun T., see a bunch of old friends, make some new ones, and rub elbows with the corporate big wigs. It was truly amazing. Now, back to health and fitness! I’ll start with some thoughts on the primal/paleo diet and carbs.
On the last night of the cruise, a bunch of us decided to start the Summit Skeletor Challenge and compete to see who can lose the highest percentage of body fat by the Beachbody Coach Summit in Los Angeles on June 16, 2011. Monica and I went and got tested yesterday and I was pretty surprised to see my results after a week of cruising and boozing.
Here are my thoughts on the post-cruise test, which had me at 15.85% body fat compared to 19.66% from nearly one year ago. What changed? I bought Mark Sisson’s book, The Primal Blueprint and started eating the foods that my body was designed to consume. The results have been astounding. Okay, so 16% body fat isn’t that astounding, but it becomes more astounding when you take into consideration I was eating and drinking on a cruise for a week. My goal for the challenge is to get to 10% body fat, while maintaining my current weight of 160 pounds. Let’s see if I can do it.
