How to Move Beyond Excuses
Moving beyond excuses involves two things:
One of the blaring shortcomings in our education system relates to nutrition. Our society has simply fails to teach people how to eat for health and sports performance. I believe people need to be better educated, so they have the information to better prepare them for life.
Priorities are also a huge issue.Priorities are simply a reflection of what is important in your life and actions follow priorities. If health and fitness is not a priority, then it will eventually get pushed to the side and neglected. Only when people are able to develop strong reasons to commit to health and fitness, it becomes becomes a priority. At that point, living a healthy life is really quite simple.
Fitness Challenge Groups
One of the things I talked about with Chad was the concept of fitness challenge groups. A challenge group is simply a group of people that commit to a certain fitness and/or nutrition challenge. For instance, we run 90/10 Nutrition Challenges, where everyone commits to eating 90% whole, clean, healthy foods with a 10% allowances for “cheat meals.” Most of the Challenge Groups we run are fitness related for Beachbody programs like P90X or Insanity. We organize people into private Facebook groups where we can make sure they learn about nutrition and fitness and where we can help them find their inner motivation to stay committed.
