Shakeology Clinically Approved to Help with Weight Loss, Cholesterol & Diabetes

NEWSFLASH — Shakeology clinically approved to promote weight loss, lower cholesterol and prevent diabetes!

Even I was skeptical at first. It’s good to doubt—as long as you don’t get so stuck there that you ignore the facts. Now, independent research confirms the effectiveness of Shakeology and I want to be sure you know about it.

Shakeology Clinical Study Results

Beachbody commissioned an independent clinical study to answer a single question—how effective is Shakeology? The 90-day study was administered by Medicus Research, a leading clinical research organization for natural health products.

In a 90-day independent study,1 a total of 50 participants replaced one meal a day with Shakeology AND exercised regularly. That’s it. There were no other modifications to their diet or exercise regimen. The point was to isolate the effects of Shakeology alone, which hadn’t been done before.

Here’s what they said:*

  • “I felt full and didn’t struggle with hunger.”
  • “I felt a better sustained energy throughout the day.”
  • “I have tons of energy. I feel so healthy!”
  • “I replaced all my vitamin supplements. I felt healthy and energized.”
  • “I was able to think more clearly and stay focused.”
  • “I have more energy, less cravings, more endurance, and feel more youthful.”
  • “Shakeology reduced my appetite and increased my energy so that I could accomplish more things throughout the day.”
  • “I have tried a lot of protein shakes and meal-replacement-type drinks, and Shakeology is the best tasting of them all. I mix it with a bit of soy milk and ice, and it tastes like an ice cream shake!”

Here’s what the doctor found:*

  • Oxidative stress (a risk factor for degenerative diseases) was reduced by as much as 90%.
  • Total cholesterol was reduced by an average of 30% and “bad” cholesterol levels by an average of 38%.
  • Cardiovascular risk factors were reduced by an average of 24%.

Over the 90 days, the participants lost an average of 9.3 pounds—one person lost 24! That’s impressive. Best of all, it was the right kind of weight loss—slow and steady. Why is this “right?” Because it’s real and it’s sustainable, that’s why.

But, like I’ve always said, it’s not all about weight loss. It’s really about good nutrition. And, Shakeology nailed that as well.

The study also monitored the blood sugar levels of the participants over the entire three-month period and calculated the average over this time period (known as HbA1c). The participants saw an average drop in HbA1c blood sugar of 5%, some falling as much as 19%.

This is GREAT news for those of us—ALL of us—looking to reduce the risk of diabetes!

Shakeology Certified Low Glycemic

Not only has Shakeology been proven to lower blood sugar, it’s been certified as low glycemic! And, not just low glycemic, but REALLY low with an amazing score of 24.

So, what exactly is a glycemic index (GI)? In short, it’s a measurement of how carbs react in your blood. Depending upon the specific carb you eat, your blood sugar level will rise a little bit, a lot, or somewhere in between.

The Glycemic Index Scale goes from 1 to 100—the higher the number, the fastest the rise in your blood sugar and vice versa. Foods with a high rating give you a quick energy boost, which is usually followed by a crash when your blood sugar falls quickly. After you crash, you usually feel pretty wiped out and irritable.

Your body needs carbs to use as fuel, but you want them from foods with a GI Score of 55 or less. Examples of these kinds of nutrient dense carbs are whole grains, nuts, veggies, fruits, and now…Shakeology.

(A little note…some people have gone a little crazy with their Shakeology recipes, adding unhealthy things like Jello Pudding Mix and other processed and unhealthy ingredients. Be sure and read our Shakeology Do’s and Don’ts so you don’t sabotage your healthy when you doctor up your shake!)

So, you can see why a Glycemic Index score of 24 is so awesome…it’s actually lower than some veggies, most fruits, and pretty much every processed food.

One thing to be very clear on—the fructose in Shakeology is NOT the same as the nasty sugar substitute known as high-fructose corn syrup. Fructose is a natural sugar found in some veggies and all fruits that is very low on the GI scale. And, our fructose is non-GMO. There are also NO artificial sweeteners in Shakeology, unlike many of its competitors; it does contain stevia, which is considered natural and safe. (In fact, ALL of the ingredients in Shakeology are top quality.)

A low GI Score means that Shakeology is safe for diabetics. As part of a healthy, balanced diet, it actually helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels.
