Are You Bored Eating the Same Food on the 21 Day Fix?
One of the frequent concerns that my customers voice to me is that they don’t want to get bored eating the same food while doing the 21 Day Fix. Well, I have something to say about that!
First, honestly, boredom is something that shouldn’t even be on your concern list! This kind of goes back to getting real with your commitment.
I want you to really think about how committed you are to getting results with this program. I want you to be more committed to your goals and yourself than you are concerned with “excitement” with your food.
Second, there is absolutely nothing wrong with “boring,” “boredom,” or “basic.” I want you to stop trying to be a master chef. I want you to ditch the attitude or expectation that you have to be eating gourmet meals all the time, because eating clean is pretty basic.
I don’t know how it is in your house, but my kids’ go to foods—both the healthy AND unhealthy ones—are the exact same things over and over and over again.
Now, here’s a tough truth—boredom is just another excuse. Keeping it simple for yourself should be WAY more important than whether or not you’re going to be bored.
Simple and UN-Boring 21 Day Fix Meal Prep
There are two ways I keep my 21 Day Fix meal prep simple:
- Buffet style meal prep
Leftovers are your friend! Making a big batch of something—like soup or stir fry—so you can eat it for several days makes your life SO much simpler. Seriously, eating leftovers is AMAZING!
Buffet-style meal prep is when you prep a variety of basic foods—like meats, veggies, eggs, etc.—ahead of time and put them in individual containers in the fridge. When it’s time for lunch or dinner, your fridge is now like the buffet table at a restaurant! You can just grab a little bit of this and a little bit of that, throw whatever seasonings you’re craving on top, and you have a delish meal in minutes. Buffet style meal prep gives me variety with the least amount of effort!
Get Real with Your Commitment
So when you go that place of being bored eating the same food, keep these things in mind:
- Avoid the “boredom” mindset!
- Focus on GETTING RESULTS.
- If you find yourself losing motivation, remember WHY you started (i.e., your CORE COMMITMENTS).
- Basics and leftovers are SUPER easy and EASY will help you STAY COMMITTED.
- Use buffet style meal prep to keep your nutrition CLEAN and SIMPLE.
- Get real and STAY REAL.
