What are YOUR Weight Loss Obstacles?

We’ve all been there. Your pants are way too tight and the number on the scale is some degree of too high. It’s time to do something about your weight gain, but weight loss obstacles blocking your way.

Don’t even think about the merry-go-round again. And, please don’t be discouraged.

Common Weight Loss Obstacles

We all have our weight loss demons and they’re very likely shared by many others. Here are a few common weight loss obstacles with solutions for tackling then head on:

1. Unrealistic Goals

Unrealistic goals are a common weight loss obstacle for many people.

We’ve all seen the fad diet ads that promise you’ll have a bikini body in two weeks. That’s an unrealistic goal that only sets you up for failure.

And, what happens when we fail? The feeling of failure causes some people to give up altogether.

Instead of falling into this trap, try setting small attainable goals. You didn’t gain that 60 pounds in two weeks, you can’t take it off in two weeks either. But, you CAN set realistic goals that you will reach.

2. Confusing Weight Loss Information

Confusing information is a huge weight loss obstacle for lots of people. There’s so much bad information and so many fad diets out there—even more so since the internet has gone nuts.

For instance, for a long time, we’ve read and heard that dietary fat was bad for us.

Well, it turns out that was bad information. And, that bad information led to weight gain for lots of people. It’s possible it even fueled the obesity epidemic. Without healthy fats in our diet, we don’t feel full and our bodies can’t absorb nutrients.

Many low-fat products substitute sugar for fat, which wreaks havoc on our bodies and causes weight gain.

That’s why we love the 2B Mindset and Portion Fix nutrition plans so much. They re-educate you on WHAT and HOW MUCH to eat in a very clear and simple way, totally fixing this giant weight loss obstacle.

Not having the time or desire to cook is a common weight loss obstacle.

I get it…who wants to cook after a long day at work or at home herding and caring for kids???

There’s no denying that cooking is harder than ordering takeout but, at the end of the day, cooking at home is cheaper and definitely more nutritious.

Home cooking also crashes through some of your other weight loss obstacles because when you cook yourself, you know exactly what’s in your food. Take-out food is full of unhealthy oils and fats, as well as salt and sugar and who knows what else???

Monica’s buffet style food prep system is the key to cooking and eating healthy at home!

You’ll pick one day a week to plan, shop, and prep and/or cook individual ingredients, then eat like you’re at a buffet restaurant the rest of the week. Check it out—Coach Monica’s Buffet Style Meal Prep School

4. You Don’t Want to Feel Hungry All the Time

Feeling hungry is a big weight loss obstacle. But, the fact is, you don’t have to feel hungry when you’re working on losing weight.

You don’t have to eat minuscule amounts of food to nudge the scale downward. You just need to change the kind of food you’re eating.

Lean protein, high-fiber vegetables and fruits, and whole grains are your best bet. And, drink lots of water!

Do you hate vegetables? Chances are, you grew up on boiled and steamed veggies.

Try roasting cauliflower, broccoli, and Brussel sprouts, and other veggies. Toss them in a light coating of extra virgin olive oil, put them on a cookie sheet in a single layer, and throw on your favorite spices and a little salt and pepper.

Place them in the oven at around 400 F for 20 minutes. Roasting caramelizes the veggies and brings out the flavor. These are not your mama’s veggies!

This is also where nutritional supplements, like Shakeology, come into play. Shakeology’s all natural ingredients combine to give you energy and keep you feeling full for longer. Use it…it really makes a difference!!!

5. You Hate Exercise

When it comes to weight loss obstacles, exercise is a big one for many people. Well, here’s something to chew on—exercise plays only a small part in weight loss.

Yes, you should definitely exercise on a daily basis, because it promotes fitness and overall good health. But, you’d have to exercise all day to burn enough calories to really lose weight if you don’t change what you’re eating.

One important thing to know—when at rest, muscle burns more calories than fat, so exercising makes losing weight easier, especially when you include strength training in your exercise regimen.

Daily exercise does NOT have to take hours and it does NOT have to be boring. In fact, Beachbody has created a HUGE library of all kinds of exercise programs, most of which will have you done in less than 30 minutes.

There are beginner programs and advanced workouts. There are cardio workouts, ones that use weights, and those that combine the two. There are dance workouts and yoga workouts. And, Barre coming in January! Trust me, there IS something that you’ll like.
