About Beachbody’s Control Freak Program
As the title says, Control Freak is a 9-week program. That means you’re going to totally finish this program in just over two months!
It’s one of the best at-home workouts I’ve seen and I’m super excited about it!
The program has three 3-week phases. After each phase, Autumn ramps up the intensity and the exercise difficulty.
There’s also 10-minute bonus videos targeting specific muscle groups.
You’ll work out five days a week, which, I hope for the sake of your body and mind, you’re already doing in some way, shape, or form!
What Types of Workouts Can You Expect?
Autumn Calabrese designed the 9-Week Control Freak Program herself, so you know it’s gonna be great!
Think of each week as a mini-program where you’ll do three DCT-T workouts (Density, Strength Complexes, Tabata Training), one day of Tabata Cardio and Core, and one day of Total Body Tone.
That’s an intense five days, but the idea is to work out smarter, not longer. As I mentioned before, there are also 10-minute bonus videos targeting specific muscle groups.
Let me break down the training for you…
➡ Density Training
With density training, you’ll do five exercises performed one after the other — as many rounds as possible until the clock winds down.
This type of training builds both stamina and strength due to the extreme intensity.
➡ Strength Complexes
With strength complexes, you’ll increase your time under tension, which shifts your muscle building into overdrive. You’ll hold onto your weights or resistance band until you’ve completed every rep of EVERY exercise.
Autumn designed these strength complexes by combining a few exercises into one huge set that maximizes calorie burn, maximizes strength gains and muscle endurance.
➡ Tabata Training
Inspired by Japanese scientist Izumi Tabata’s research, Tabata Training is high-intensity interval training at its finest.
Basically, Tabata Training is short bursts of cardio followed by short breaks. But, those short bursts of cardio are intense, increasing your exercise capacity and burning LOTS of calories. You’ll increase your speed, strength, and endurance.

What You Need
You’ll need a few pieces of equipment if you’re going to take full advantage of the program. But, it’s a short list:
- Fitness Step (use an adjustable step like that used in Transform: 20)
- Core Ball
- Dumbbells (light, medium, and heavy)
- Control Track with B-LINES Resistance Band (only use as per instructions and attach to wall or qualified door)

Once you’ve got the right equipment, find the best workout spot in the house, and you’re good to go.
