Benefits of Shakeology: Is it Helping Me Fight Off the Flu? | by Dave Ward of TheFitClubNetwork.com

I’ve been reaping the benefits of my favorite nutritional supplement for awhile now. Here are the thoughts I want to pass on to anyone wondering — does Shakeology boost your immune system?

It happens every year. I get miserably sick. Sometimes even twice each winter. In late October or early November, I walk a thin line between life and death. Meanwhile, everyone else in my family gets a little sniffle and shakes it off in a day or two. I’ve tried the flu shots and a bunch of immunity boosters. But, nothing has prevented the plague from finding its way into my system.

On Sunday it happened again—scratchy throat, lower back pain, lethargy, general confusion and grumpiness. All the tell tale signs of the onset of the flu. I tried to convince myself it was just exhaustion from a recent trip to the Game Plan Event in New Orleans. On Monday at noon, I left work and went home to lay in my coffin [AKA bed]. I was officially getting sick. I slept for about three hours and felt like dirt when I woke up. I notified my assistant that I would not be in the following day, citing what would certainly be an ugly day of coughing and nose blowing that the people in my office should not be subjected to.

On Tuesday I woke up and I was actually alive. I’m  not going to lie, I didn’t feel great. I had a light sniffle [much like my family always gets as I lay dying]. No coughing. No sneezing. A little sore to be sure, but the plague had not taken root. It was just a matter of time, I thought. I stayed home and rested. Did some work and slept just a little. Just a matter of time…tomorrow is going to be Hell.

Today is that tomorrow and I woke up feeling good. Not great, but good. Much better than the day before. Now I don’t have any scientific evidence to back this up, but there is only one thing that I’ve done differently this year than in previous years—drink Shakeology. I drink it every morning for breakfast. I don’t miss a day. When I go on vacation, I take it with me. When I don’t feel so hot, I take it twice a day.

Again, I have no scientific confirmation that Shakeology is what’s helping my previously vulnerable immune system fight off whatever it was that attempted to break in the last few days, but I do know that it makes me feel better overall and it is the only variable that’s different than previous years. If you are like me and you get sick every year, maybe consider ditching that $4 latte [and all the sugar that’s in it] and try Shakeology instead for the same cost. It’s working for me…and, I would love it to work for you as well.
