Coach Monica’s 21 Day Fix Food List Tips
I see it happen often—people get stuck with new nutrition plans and the 21 Day Fix Eating Plan is no exception. One reason is that people see a bunch of foods they don’t normally eat in the plan and they get overwhelmed with all the different choices. I don’t want this to happen to you, so I’m sharing my favorite 21 Day Fix food list tips to help you move forward with this awesome program!
My partner Dave and I first saw this happen many years ago with Beachbody’s P90X program—so we simplified things and created an in depth post that broken down and explained the P90X Nutrition Plan. Today I am focusing on the 21 Day Fix Eating Plan. I am a HUGE believer in Autumn Calabrese’s simple and structured portion control eating system. So much so that I became a 21 Day Fix specialist and started an online “Fix Family!”
Th concept behind the 21 Day Fix program is simple, but profound—not only does it remove the unhealthy crap from our diet, but it teaches us how to eat the good foods in the right proportions AND portions, PLUS gives us simple and effective workouts that WILL burn calories. This is a WINNING combination!
I’m beyond grateful to Autumn for creating a program that relieves us from counting calories and gives us the structure we need to succeed!

I was one of the very first coaches to try out the 21 Day Fix when it first launched several years ago. After completing more rounds than I can count, I can tell you that the little colored Portion Fix containers have become my BFFs! I want to help YOU get to this point.
How to Simplify the 21 Day Fix Food List
At first glance, the list of food choices on the 21 Day Fix food list can be overwhelming. You may not even be familiar with some of them.
If you don’t think things through before you head to the grocery store, you might end up with a ginormous shopping list and a lot of food waste. I’m here to help you avoid this!
My first—and MOST IMPORTANT—21 Day Fix tip for you is to stick with the “Go To” foods that you already know and like.
Beachbody’s nutrition plans are a great way to expand your food horizons, but you do NOT need to expand all at once! When you’re just getting started, stick with the foods you and your family already know and love so you can focus your attention on acclimating to the eating plan within the bounds of your own life.

My 21 Day Fix Food List Tips
Here are some more 21 Day Fix food list tips for you:
1. Don't be afraid to make adjustments. All of Beachbody's eating plans—including the 21 Day Fix—are meant to guide you NOT dictate your every meal. It's okay to adjust them to suit you as long as you stay within the confines of the plan. An important skill that I really want you to learn and master is how to deconstruct familiar recipes that you already cook so you can make a healthier Fix compliant version!
2. Be thoughtful about creating a meal plan that minimizes food waste by using ingredients in several dishes. Fresh single ingredients foods have a narrow window of perfection and spoil pretty quickly, so you want to plan your meals in a way that doesn't have you throwing a bunch of food away.
3. Meal (and snack) prep is key. I typically have a big cooking session before the week begins and have everything organized and ready to go in the fridge. I typically do buffet style meal prep (more on this IMPORTANT meal prep system below!) so I can easily make meals that suit my tastes on the day that I'm eating them. Buffet Style Meal Prep
SIMPLICITY is at the heart of my coaching philosophy. Why? Because simple is sustainable.
Unless you're a professional chef or cooking is your (serious) hobby, it's highly unlikely you'll be able to keep up the Pinterest searches and elaborate meals!
As I mentioned above, I teach my customers how to do BUFFET STYLE MEAL PREP.
This really is how I prep my meals! On meal prep day (usually Sunday), I cook up big batches of protein (typically lean beef, ground turkey or chicken and/or eggs...in addition to canned tuna and Shakeology, of course) and prepare a bunch of salad ingredients and side dishes (like brown rice, quinoa, etc.) so I can put together healthy meals in MINUTES during the week.
As I cover in more depth in my Buffet Style Meal Prep School, I don't season my foods when I cook them—only when I put my meal together during the week. That gives me the flexibility to satisfy my cravings—for Mexican, Thai, Italian, or whatever I feel like!
One of my VERY favorite "Go To" foods for the red container is Shakeology. It’s simple, packed with protein and other amazing ingredients, and it’s cost effective.
