Energize Pre Workout Supplements Comparison

Energize Pre Workout Supplements Comparison

Energize Pre Workout Supplements Comparison

I’ve been getting some questions about energy drinks so I wanted to take a few minutes to share some pre workout supplements comparison. Even though I use Beachbody’s Energize now, I tried a bunch of them before Energize was released. I updated my research and made a little spreadsheet, because I’m a geek like that.

Read on or scroll down and watch my video. But, do take the time to get educated.

Why Take an Energy Pre-Workout Supplement?

Let’s take a quick look at why we want to take energy pre-workout supplements.

If they’re legit good, they work—without hurting your body. And, they are WAY better than coffee.

This is what they do:

  • Improve exercise performance
  • Boosts energy and endurance
  • Sharpen focus and reaction time
  • Delay muscle fatigue

What’s in Beachbody Energize?

Before I dig deep into some pre workout supplements comparison, I’ll start with Beachbody Energize—because that’s what I already take as I mentioned.

Here’s the per serving stats:

  • 15 calories
  • 4 grams carbohydrates
  • 2 grams from sugar (organic cane sugar)

All of the ingredients are all natural; the active ones include:

  • Beta-alanine—an amino acid that helps reduce lactic acid buildup in your muscles and improve performance during intense exercise.
  • Quercetin—this is the yellow stuff that gets all over everything, tastes great and gives you a boost and, yes, it really is natural. It gives you a competitive edge by improving endurance and delaying exercise-induced muscle fatigue.
  • Caffeine—a low-dose of caffeine (from green tea and coffee bean extract) enhances performance, improves reaction time and focus and reduces muscle fatigue.

It prices out at $1.25/serving—$0.93/serving if you’re a coach.

Some Pre Workout Supplements Comparison

Here are the energy pre workout supplements comparison for you:

  • C4 from C Core. This is the stuff I used before Energize came out—and clearly before I was an educated consumer. There's no info on calories, carbs or sugar carbs. I can see that there's no taurine, which is good as the research on this has not been positive. It's about $1.00/serving.
  • Red Bull. This stuff has 168 calories per serving, 40 grams of carbs, 37 from sugar. You can always pollute your body with the artificial sugar-free version...NOT. It's about $2.59/serving.
  • Monster Energy Drink. 100 calories per serving, 25 grams of carbs, 100% from sugar. This means you'll get a big energy boost, then crash. It's $3.99/serving.
  • Pre-JYM. This is the most comparable to Energize with 80 calories, 3 grams carbs, 2 grams from sugar. However, it contains taurine (not good) in addition to beta-alanine and betanin and is not all natural or Informed Sport Certified. It's $1.63/serving.
  • ENGN. This one didn't have any nutrition info or active ingredients listed. It's $1/serving.
  • Morph Extreme. This one has 25 calories, 7 grams carbs, 1 gram from sugar, taurine (bad), caffeine and yohimbe. Yohimbe has been linked to severe side effects such as irregular or rapid heart beat, kidney failure, seizure, and heart attacks. Yeah, no thanks...not even close to being worth the $2.25/serving.
  • Bucked Up. Can you imagine taking something with a name like this? I can't even take it seriously.

I recently visited BodyBuilding.com, which is one of the more popular websites out there selling pre-workout supplements. It was super interesting and, frankly, shocking to me that there was a major lack of nutrition info to be had. Most of the pre-what I saw was just "Natural and Artificial Flavors." Uh, okay...so that's troubling. It's pretty mind boggling to me that there are athletes who will blindly trust some company to keep them safe.

Some supplement companies have snuck in...oh, I don't know, amphetamines to make their product more effective. And, people might buy it again because it ramped them up. Lead is another popular ingredient.

If I'm going to put something in my body, I want to know what's in it and that I can trust that what they say is in it is really in it. I'm not just going to take someone's word for it. I really don't think that's unreasonable.

Energize Pre Workout Supplements Comparison | TheFitClubNetwork.comHow to Know if a Supplement is Safe?

So if you're like me and you're not willing to just take someone's word for it, how do you know if a supplement is safe?

That's where the Informed-Sports logo comes in.

The short story is that this logo means that the supplement has been thoroughly tested and you know exactly what's in it. Even your specific batch. WADA, the World Anti-Doping agency, trusts the Informed-Sport certification—and that says a lot. That says it's clean.

You'll find the longer story about what this means here:

If you're in competitive sports, the military or just exercise hard and want to make sure what you put in your body is SAFE, I really encourage you to read these posts and get yourself educated.

The ONLY supplement I discuss above that has the Informed-Sport certification is Beachbody's Energize. Energize delivers all natural ingredients, effectiveness and confidence for a competitive price. It's clearly the best.

And, I can vouch for it. I've been using it for a couple of years. It doesn't give me the jitters or make me aggressive and I have yet to develop a tolerance to it.

So even after an updated pre workout supplements comparison, my pick is still Energize.
